Aggressive or not?

Ok i've wrote a few times about my 15 week old bully's biting problem and how it's out of control. Well i was wondering if it might be aggressive behavior and not just "teething". I mean he'll just all of a sudden lash out and bite our toes, fingers, sides, etc and hard enough to bring blood and bruises and he'll growl at us when we try to get him off us. My poor wife is all black and blue and bandaged up. We're afrid to even stick our feet off the couch cuz he imediately attacks us and HARD. And trying to pet and love on him is impossible! We've already tried everything and i mean EVERYTHING to get him to stop biting us. We're at our wits end. Does this sound lie aggressive behavior from him? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Kai

Nothing works??

Please don't give up. Nothing will work unless you do it consistantly. Please remember this is a baby, and it takes time to "unlearn" bad behavior and substitute it with good behavior. Make sure you praise good behavior--work at "catching" him being good, give lots of treats and love for the behaviors you want; be consistant with distracting him from bad behavior. He should show rapid improvement with the proper training. Have you looked into puppy obediance classes? Good luck.

Re: Aggressive???

Thanks for the suggestions but we've tried them all and nothing works even the dominance thing.

Aggressive???

The biting is normal, what I don't like is the growling. This you have to deal with as he is thinking he is your boss. This pup is small enough to do dominance down and let him know all humans in the house are above him on the alpha lineup.
Lay him on his side and hold him down physically and growl in his ear just as his mama would when he got out of hand. Keep him down until he submits. All in the hoiuse must do this or he will think he a above them on the lineup. This should be done until he stops the growling at you.
To get him to stop biting get a small can(I use the Aktoid candy tins) and put in about 10 pennies, when he starts to bite shake the can and scare him. It should only take a few days to get him to stop. Also give him a hard Nyla Bone after you do this for him to chew on as he is probably teething.

Dominance

This has to be done at least 2 times a day for at least a couple of weeks, not just once or twice.

Have you asked the breeder or a trainer for help??

What does the breeder say? That should be the first person you could go back to for help, as they should know their dogs best.

Also, have you looked into some puppy training classes, or a private behavior specialist?

IMO, this degree is NOT normal nor right. It needs to be nipped in the bud now, for both your sake and the dogs. Puppy nips are one thing, black and blue bruises and blood and bites are not right.

What is his temperament?

Is he mellow, easily excitable? How is he around other people and dogs?>

When Jeeves was a puppy...

I was bruised and scraped up a lot. My new primary care doctor thought I was being battered by a man.
Many puppies are big nippers when they are young and teething.

To give you some hope, Jeeves outgrew this puppy biting stage within a few months, and now NEVER does it.

I found give him a frozen wash cloth helpful, and also lots of safe chewing toys.

Your puppy is still very young, and I'm sure he'll outgrow this behavior as he matures physically.

Your pupppy is a perfect age for a puppy obedience class. I had lots of fun in class with Jeeves, and learned lots of helpful skills.

I just want to reassure you that your puppy doesn't sound aggressive. I've loads of puppies who are big nippers.

I can empathize how rough it can to be chewed up alive. Those puppy teeth hurt like hell.
