Advice needed...Puppy biting

We just got a 10 week old Olde English Bullie. Can you give me some tips on how to train her to know that it is ok to chew on and bite her toys, but not bite us and the kids. Or is 10 weeks too young for her to know it is not ok to be biting people?

Try soda cans filled with pennies

We are having the same problem with my 16 week old pup. We met with a wonderful trainer who suggests filling several soda cans with pennies and when he does the undesirable behavior, throw a soda can in his direction (not at him but near him, of course (lol!). The sound is not pleasant to these dogs and it actually works. The trick is to have plenty on hand and not to say anything like "No!) when you do it. It manages to distract Tuffy but then he starts to chase it like a toy but at least he stops the undesirable behavior. He's gotten much better with it. If the pup is biting your hand and you don't have a soda can nearby the trainer suggest giving a tug on his collar (if he's wearing one). Good luck!

we started ASAP

teaching Remi its NOT okay to bite at all. We have a three year old and hes right on Remi's level so we were very committed to the no nip/mouth/bite rule.

When ever he would nip or mouth we'd immediately turn away and not pay any attention to him. Stop playing with him and calm but firmly say "no." If he was extra wound up for some reason, we'd say no, offer a toy and walk away.

He wanted us to play with him, so he VERY quickly (by 11 weeks or so) learned he had to play nice, or not at all.

Every time she nips at you or the kids...

you can IMMEDIATELY say "NO" very firmly and give her a toy right away. Praise her for being good. NO HITTING/shaking at any time.

Praise her for all the good things she does.
