There's a rescue that I follow on Facebook, and today they posted a picture of a bulldog/boxer mix who needs a foster. And he's so beautiful! And I keep needing to remind myself of all the (very practical) reasons why we can't be a two-dog home right now. But I just keep looking at his picture, and my brain keeps trying to find a way to make it work, even just to foster him until he has a forever home.
I'm such a sucker for these guys.....
Anyway. Figured you guys could relate.
Here's a smooshy-face picture of Beatrix, just so this post isn't all me kvetching. ;)
You've come to the wrong place!
Lol! I'm a sucker too - which is why I NEVER go on rescue sites. Total torture for me.
Sorry..
Afraid I won't be of much help either....that's how I ended up with 4 :)

I'll be the devil's advocate - - -
Yes, its a rescue, however, you truely need to look at your own home before bringing another (unknown) animal or person into your home -
How will the rest of the family be with this addition? What is the financial burden? What is the emotional burden (sorry for lack of better words there)
Stresses? What additional work with their be? Part boxer, they will probably be more active than a bully. Are you ready for all of that? if there is even ANY doubt, then I think you know the answer already
:)

Oh, I know the answer, from a
Oh, I know the answer, from a practical perspective. Not only can we not really afford a second dog, but we're away from home 12 hours a day. Beatrix comes to work with us, which is AWESOME -- but there's no way I could get away with bringing two dogs on the commuter train and into the office all day!
Which is why I haven't sent them an e-mail. I just hope somebody else falls in love with his gorgeous face, too, and gives him a good home.
Someday I'll be in a good position to foster and/or rescue. Just not now.
Two is always better.
You knew we were all enablers here!!!

Go for it.
we never really plan on having human kids. Once they are here we can't ever see how we could of live without them. dogs are the same. once behind your door he will be there to stay and things always work out. if you wait intill the time is right then it you will never get another there will always be something to say no. oncw you do it you will be fine and wonder why you waited so long.
