Winston's Before and After photo series (pic heavy as well)

Here is the first picture I received from rescue when I was finally approved to adopt my sweet boy, he was about 10 months old at the time.  What cracks me up the most about the picture, is that when I showed it to "The Dude" the first thing he said is "What a good looking boy.  He will grow in to his wrinkles, right?" hahahahah :)

Here we are meeting for the first time about a week later.  Excuse my tired lookingness...I had been in OKC for the college basketball NCCA tournament and we literally drove all night thru a crazy snow storm (at about 20 mph the whole way b/c the roads were so terrible) to meet him and take him home.

Here he is on Graduation Day from our beginner level obiedence class.

And here's my most recent picture of my sweet boy (sleeping on the couch pillows that he knows he isn't supposed to be on) he's now 2.5 years old and a total riot!  Thanks for looking. :)

He's so cute - I dont know Winston's story. Why was such an adorable pup in rescue?

Winston's Story

What BCARN knew and told me was that his owners noticed that he had some blood in his urine and took him to the vet to get it all checked out.  Their vet discovered that he had a prolapsed urethra.  She explained to them that it is a "one time" fix, but that it'd be a costly surgery.  Once they heard the price they just told her to put him down.  Seriously.  At that response she decided to "keep" him and contacted BCARN, who of course swooped in and rescued him. I thank God for that vet being a good person and great vet, without her I wouldn't have my sweet guy.

In the first pic you can see his bandage on his leg from the IV he had for his repair and neuter surgery.  When I got him he still had his stitches, but was pretty much in tip-top shape otherwise. :)

I discovered a bit more about him this summer when I decided to take him to get a microchip (after reading all the stolen bulldog stories I got paranoid).  The vet tech's wanded him (just to double check) and he beeped!  My vet and BCARN never said he was already chipped...so when I called to register the chip (because he had never been registered) I learned a bit more about him.  He came from a "national" breeder and their records track him to a "pet store" in El Paso Texas.  They have no idea how he ended up in central Missouri (the vet who saved him was close to Branson) or when he left the pet store...

So he's still a bit of a mystery...

and for this very reason.  He may have originated in El Paso but I'm glad he ended up with you!
