Who else is totally exhausted after a nice spring weekend?
Submitted by RARett on March 18, 2012 - 6:30pmOh man, Dottie is a slave driver, she made me turn the compost pile, then we decided to take out the landscaping timbers that made our garden a 'raised bed' we were just going to take out the ones that made the rows but leave the main 'Box' still intact - well that didnt go too well :P out comes 4 layers of Landscaping timbers, in a 16 x 8 foot garden, with separation timbers every 2 foot, so we are talking.. WHOLLY SMOKES! that is alot of Rotted timbers, and when I build, I build to last, just 'a few' 8 inch Spikes through them - every 18 - 24 inches -
Needless to say, 1 saw-zaw blade, and almost burning out a circular saw, we got them cut down into 2 foot lengths - pulled all around the house to put out for the trash guy... hummm wow, did I say 'WHOLLY SMOKES ! that's alot of Rotten timbers cut into 2 foot lengths ! - Ok trash guy is NOT going to like us - so a Phone call to Dottie's son. 'Hey we havent seen the grand daughter in a few weeks, why dont you bring her down for cheeseburgers on sunday ... Oh and bring your pickup truck too!' (Bwhahahahahah)
Timbers fill the truck - find a 'contractor' trash bin at a local construction site - UNload the 'WHOLLY SMOKES that's a lot of rotten Landscaping timbers, cut into 2 foot lengths, in the back of a pickup truck'
Then the fun began ! I wont bore you all with more details, lets just say my back is out in the garden somewhere, and my neck is sunburnt (In March? WOW) - The compost pile is no more, and the garden is 1/2 turned - and Gizmo is growling and barkng saying 'LETS GO TO BED' and its only 6:30pm ! LOL

We had snow this morning
and rain pretty much all day, temp is 40. Still winter here, really sucks! New lawn is real mushy and we are expected to have rain all week. Really tired of this stuff.

was great today, and this afternoon it got nasty again. Spring is far away I am afraid. I had to take Paul into the hospital with suspician of a blood clot in his leg (hip and knee replacement on that side last yr)...we went in with him in shorts, came out to 35 degrees at 5pm, just two hours later.....No blood clot luckily----just celulitis (again!).......Now I remember why my girlfriend told me to go for the younger men instead of the older ones LOL

Working that girl do hard! 6:30 at night wanting to go to bed. Gizmo cone to Loulou house she just does'nt work that hard it's just not in her lazy butt! That's for everyone else as she lays on her blue couch and sleeps hard all day. After all she needs her beauty rest. Just think when the flowers and garden is in full bloom you two are going to love it.

Wow Rick! That sounded like a lot of work and glad it wasn't me. LOL I bet your yard looks great. I just took the kids and Jack outside to play while my husband mowed the grass and weeded.
