LOL! What fun! Sophia LOVES the water!
Hey Bill and Sue, how the heck are you? We are fine. Had our second grand daughter on the 13th of February, she is a beautiful baby, and deaf like her big sister is. Wish it was different, but they are lovely, loved girls, that's for danged sure:-)

on the new grandbaby. Just curious--what is the reason both girls are deaf? I was a pediatric and NICU nurse for 20 years and this is something I had not come across.

We're fine; thanks for asking. Belated congratz on Number 2. Sorry to know about the hearing impairment. Did you know Sue has been hard of hearing her entire life? Her mom forced her to learn to read lips and forbade her to learn American Sign.

I *hate* to admit this, BUT----there was a time when Meaty was new and we were at our friend's house and he accidentally fell into the deep end---of course, he sank IMMEDIATELY!!! I threw my camera and jumped into the pool fully clothed to rescue him. Thank the Dear Lord, he was okay and only vomited----no water in his lungs or anything else since I was able to get him back up VERY fast.....
Needless to say, LESSON LEARNED! We would NEVER let him just run around any pool area, even with his trusty life jacket on...when he fell into friend's pool, he wasn't leashed AND we hadn't even heard of doggie life jackets yet.....
He LOVES to swim with us and it is SO cute when he paddles his wittle paws.....They both seem to love being in the pool, but we can tell they're also a little nervous, too, UNLESS we hold onto their back paws---then they're totally calm.
(***don't worry!!!*** Hubbs was right there, ready to catch him!!!)
Once they're done in the pool, they hang out on the deck and we continue to hydrate them and hose
them down since it's sooooo hot! We offer the hose AND ice cubes for them to chew on.
I *wish* they'd cool off in their cute wittle pool more, but mainly, they just DRINK from it! Niiiiiiiiiice big water dish....LOL!
annnnd.....just for giggles! :-)

We're not far from a dog park w/ Mississippi River swimming spots and a few lakes with dog swimming access, but Maybull knows that this is for wading only. She seems to understand that she can't swim , but she loves to wade and we ALWAYS have her leach on when she's in wate rmore that two inches.
Water Bully Babies!!!

I knew that about Sue...
You had mentioned it previously when Audrey was declared deaf. Does Sue know sign language now?
Anyway, thanks for the congrats:-). Love and miss you guys...
