So, two bulldogs and two identical bones is not the correct ratio.... Somehow one bulldog can hog two delicious bones. Is three bones/two bulldogs a better ratio?
Currently watching one sad bullie boy watching a very happy bullie girl chew on the bones he wishes he had....breaks my heart, lol.
LOL! No, I don't think there actually is a ratio they would find
reasonable!
Give that poor boy his bone back!!!

It's an impossible situation.
It's an impossible situation. I steal a bone from her and give it to him and she sneaks over and steals it. Very very pathetic! At one point she was lying in the doggie bed and he had his head smoothly faced against the edge of the bed just watching her. At least they are entertaining!
lol that's not fair! I would take the bone and give it to the
the other, I do it all the time. A little dominance play going on there! lol
Defnately a Dominance thing !
I'm the leader of the pack, and I tell you what is yours is mine, and what is mine is mine. Imagine them out ine wild, and this is 'food'
Does she do the same with food? eats her own and then his?
Last steps taken May 26, 2014 -- Been rolling along ever since . . . .
The foster is just a sneaky
The foster is just a sneaky little bugger. Vern is the dominant dog of the two, but, I don't allow him to be growly or possessive.
When she first came, if he had a toy & she got too close or tried to steal it and he growledl at her, I corrected him on the spot....sometimes even the time out kennel. So, now he'd rather allow her to steal it then for me to correct him.
Neither is aggressive with their food. Initially I fed them separately, but now I feed them side by side. Vern always finishes first then he'll wait for her to finish (I'm always in the room...suspect it would be different if I wasn't) then he'll lick her bowl a hundred times and she'll inspect his bowl.
I Know we always have to think using a dog brain, but I swear this foster is just a hoarder!!! She can fit under my bed, Vern can't, and I think there are a hundred toys under there now!!!
It would not matter
My Loulou take everything. In spoiled brat Loulou world everything hers . That just the way it is. I have to crate her if she doesn't share. Do in her wiggled this is when she gets crated because it's a never ending battle.

You need 14 bones...
...but the bulldogs will still both want the same bone.
More then 3 .... LOL!
My house looks like a bone yard. Usually Kohl has them all piled up on his rug. Thankfully when they steal each others they just do a little grumbling. Sometimes (rarely) I've had to step in and take all the bones away. But if they get to pissy they lose the priviledge.
lol...sounds about right!!!
lol...sounds about right!!!
Ok, I think I have solved the problem...
OK, I am an accountant and think I have a formula that may solve this dilemma.....oh wait.....I'm dealing with bulldogs....way out of my area of expertise so I will have to remind myself of the bulldog rules:
Lol!!!! I need to have that
Lol!!!! I need to have that printed and hung up in my house!!! I had no idea my 12.5 year old son was a bulldog too!
lol...if only it applied to

oooh love this!!! will print
oooh love this!!! will print it out also, thnx
That about sums it up!

I was just going to ask about bone issues!
This thread was very interesting! Just tonight we had our first scuffle and it was over deer antlers. We have at least 3 antlers laying around the house and only two dogs, but of course that one antler is better than all the rest. It is just a waiting game for the one dog to be distracted and leave it unattended for just a second before the other swoops in for it. Crazy dogs! And the bulldog rules poster is dead on!

Lol!!! At least we know we
Lol!!! At least we know we are all dealing with the same things! Next time we buy bones, I will make sure to buy as identical as possible bones. The ones mine were arguing over last night are peanut butter filled and one is larger and that was the preferred bone by far, lol!
Identical Bones
I buy 3 of the same, every time I get bones. The toys I don't get the same. I just got Antlers this weekend and they were definitely a hit.
