WEIRD BEHAVIOUR?

ITS BEEN A WHILE. I HAVE A QUESION. HAS ANYBODYS DOG (MALE) ACTED WIERD AFTER BEING BRED OR HAVING A SEMEN EXTRACTION FOR THE FIRST TIME? THE THING IS OUR CHAPO HAD HIS SEMEN EXTRACTED FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY, OBVIOUSLY THE BITCH WAS THERE SO HE WAS GOING NUTS TRYING TO MOUNT HER A COUPLE OF TIMES WHICH WE NEVER LET HAPPEN. SO ANYWAYS THE VET DID HIS THING : EXTRACTED THE SEMEN AND INSIMINATED THE BITCH. AFTER EVERYTHING WAS DONE CHAPO STILL WAS FREAKISHLY EXCITED RUNNING AROUND AND SNIFFEING HER OUT. WHEN WE GOT HOME HE JUST STOOD AT THE DOOR, DIDNT WANT TO EAT, AND KEPT HOWLING ALL NIGHT. IS HE JUST DEPRESSED BECAUSE HIS FIRST LOVE WAS TAKEN OR IS THIS BEHAVIOUR JUST TO BE EXPECTED??? IF ANYBODY HAS SOME INSIGHT PLEASE FILL ME IN THANKS.
THIS MORNING HE WAS FINE, ALL BACK TO NORMAL....... BUT STILL INTRIGUED AS TO WAHT WAS GOING ON YESTERDAY.

It happens, they really want to mate them selves.
Its the action that they like. ;•} back to normal is good.
just keep an eye on his temperament, he could become aggressive after his first go around.

Aggressive ??? I disagree
If he becomes aggressive (or any dog) then he needs to be neutered. Poor temperment in Bulldogs is unacceptable, breeding males or altered males. Temperment should never be aggressive.
Typical Behavior
I personally would not have taken semen with the bitch right there, or if he needed some teasing then fine start then take the bitch out, or at least removed him during the insemination. No need to keep him worked up for nothing.
He's just an intact dog, completely normal.
You have no experience with reproduction?

REPRODUCTION
No Deb in all honesty this was our first; thats why we had the vet there to do his thing, and yes basically the bitch was there for teasing I guess you could say. After that we didn´t take chapo away for the insemination, we´ll take that in account for the next session. Separate them and do the insemination in another room. Yeah I figured he was just being a GUY, afterwards with his behaviour, just kinda weirded us out.
