Vet visit...

I had to take Hazel to the vet b/c her last encounter with doggie daycare left her with an infected bite on her ear!!! Some "tussle" when she comes out worse for wear!! No more of that!!!

ANYWay...she weighed 50lbs, that was a 2lb gain over three months, so he recommended we cut back on her food. I guess I'll cut the morning portion since she doesn't expend a whole lot of energy during the day.

Lol! Thanks! She's all about the food.. It may get rough ;) hopefully the antibiotics he gave us will sort it out - I don't relish the idea of having to squeeze out the junk if it doesn't!!!

my vet told me piggy was fat too!!! then prescribed "diet" dog food. Piggy is a stellar 50 pounds with an itsy bitsy waste, a betty boop walk and just shadow of ribs if you really look!!!! She is the most ideal bulldog weight i have ever seen!!! I think as with anything.. as for our health too.. you need to use YOUR judgement. I am not putting pig on a diet... though i would have stopped her from eating my 100 dollar memory pillow today.. lmao We must be the ultimate judge of our and and dogs health and make the real decision. I think Hazel looks perfect.... and cute too may i add.. smoosh her face and tell her " Perfect!!!

OMG! A pillow? Hazel luckily is not a chewer unless it is food related. Thanks, I know she getting to middle age and I'd rather try and cut back her food to see if that's an issue before looking for more extreme causes! The weather is supposed to get cooler here tomorrow so maybe we'll both get in some excersise too!

As a mom to two NICU babies, I've had to really get involved with our daughters's care and at times, and fight the doctors. Its no different with a dog. As the parent/owner, you know your bulldog better than anyone. Our vet told me to cut back on Jack's food when he gained 3 lbs in 3 wks but said nothing when he gained 6 lbs in 3 wks. So trust your instincts.
