We were able to pick up Baxter this afternoon. He has a tumor in his esophagus right near the opening of the stomach :( Of course the vets said this is very rare and there are not may cases seen in dogs. We are so heartbroken. I don't understand why this is happening. I just want him to be ok. We are waiting on lab results to find out if it is cancerous. Two vets said there is no way to succesfully operate and one said it can be possible to go through the stomach. He is on a lot of medications but the good news is he is home. We are asking for positive vibes please! My big boy has to overcome this!
Well poo
I was hoping for something less dramatic. But I say deal with the problem when it comes, when you get the results. Right now, he's home and I'm sure really relieved to be with his humans.
Please keep us posted on the results and what approach the vet recommends.
Thank you!
It is never less dramatic with my bully. I am just giving him all the love and kisses I can and hoping for a miracle :)
I hear you!
My Stella likes to do everything BIG and try one of every physical ailment possible - at least once. At almost 12, I can't tell you how much she's been through... That said, she's always pulled through and continues to be my loving companion to this day. So hang in there!
You have my prayers and positive healing vibes

He's thrown up 7 times since coming home :(
Tried to give him a few dropper fills of water containing his medication and he couldn't hold it down. An hour later tried spoon feeding him some food and couldn't keep that down as well. We went to our local vet to give him some IV so that he stays hydrated. Will try the dropper of water and more spoon feeding tomorrow. Just have to wait for the results....
I'm so sorry that you guys
I'm so sorry that you guys are going through this. Love and prayers to you and Baxter, stay strong.
Ice Cubes
Does he like ice cubes? If so, freeze pedialyte into ice cubes and give those to him.
I'm so sorry to hear this prognosis. Maybe a sub q IV? Worth asking the vet about, so you can have him at home without him getting dehydrated.
