Tired of her Food ? what about a rotation?

Gizmo is getting to the point she seems to be tired of her food, it usually happends towards the bottom of the bag -

so, what about a rotation of different flavors? (as long as there is no alergic reaction) staying in the same 'family' of brands (ToTW) but changing it up once in a while ?  I know some people rotate for variety -  thoughts?

my archie liked the salmon

my archie liked the salmon one...

and i think there's one w/fowl...he liked that too...,lol

he liked anything he could gulp, gobble or wolf down!lol

She's on the Salmon - but we dont want to leave it out all day

Its spring in Delaware, and leaving her food down, draws ants, we found 3 or 4 last week, and we dont want to spray, we just want her to eat when we put it down (or shortly there after) if I put a few bacon bits (real bacon stuff) on it, she gobbles it down, or if we toss in a few shreds of cheese she gobbles it down (I'm talking like 3-4 tiny individual pieces, so its not like a major source of anything)  We are going away next week, and she will probably only eat about 1/2 of the food we take, just cause she gets bullheaded and mad at us for leaving her at the spa :P

oh i feel your trepidation

oh i feel your trepidation about leaving her for a week...i would be acting

like a mother hen myself...but no worries sweetie i'm sure she'll WELL taken

care of...

Giz too huh?

what is it with the end of the bag issue?  Kippah does the same thing, only the end of the bag comes quicker since the other dogs are eating the same stuff.  Its like she has decided to throw a temper tantrum and see if she gets steak instead!  (or rice and burger and green beans like she did the first time!)

We have been swapping out protiens, but the same product line.  She has more interest when she gets a new flavor, salmon or lamb --doesnt matter, as long as it is new.  It has not made any digestive issues that are noticable.  I am thinking we might swap it up every day or so---

Maybe you can send a carton of puppy crack to the spa and they can give her some ontop her food if it seems like she is not eating---or just give her some every day to keep her slightly happy.  Send a worn tshirt with her, so she can smell your 'stink' and feel like she is at home.

We change Beatrix's food like

We change Beatrix's food like that. She's always on Natural Balance Sweet Potato, but we change up the protein from month to month. I'm not sure if she appreciates the flavor change or not, as she has weird eating habits, but it certainly doesn't do her any harm.

Yes - Definitely Rotate

Most brands of dog food that have different varities of protein sources recommend you rotate them.   Just stay with TOTW.  You may want to test a smaller bag when you switch just incase she doesn't do well with certain proteins.  My Ester can only do Salmon oil in very small amounts or she pukes (usually in the middle of the night on my bed) :(.

Ms Ester - NOT on the bed ! oh my!

Thanks for all of the input, we just try to add a little 'something' to break up the same ole same ole, and I can't really expect the spa to do that - She'll be fine there :) we've taken her there before and they LOVE her

:)
