Tiny hurt her knee

Talk about a horrible friday the 13th listen to this story ..

At work my computer completely died from a virus making me lose about a week's worth of work, then I get a call from my girlfriend at work saying Tiny is not putting any pressure whatsoever on her back left leg and it looks really, really badshe thought that her hip got dislocated  .. I am literally freaking out at work because she was fine that morning when I took her out after she ate, so I leave work and head over to her house to go see her. On the way there I hit a ridiculous amount of black ice on the road and my car does a complete 360 off the road about 5 feet away from a telephone pole! Thank god my car stopped somehow before that pole, and I did make it safely to her house. When I get there Tiny is running around playful as ever on 3 legs with her chubby black pug named Buddy. She is in NO PAIN at all .. Still freaked out and worried I take her to the vet for x rays etc. Turns out the fat tissue or muscle in front of her ACL is really swolled and this could have been caused by a thousand things the vet said. He explained to me like this, the fat tissue in front of her right knee has this little black triangle on the x ray that he pointed out, while the fat tissue in her left knee (this is the hurt knee) did not have this black triangle and you could tell it is significantly bigger due to the swelling. Vet told me that this should heal itself within 3-4 weeks, if not then some type of ACL tear is there and would require surgery. Have any of you experienced any type of issue like this before?  She now walks either with a slight, slight limp on that back left foot or she walks completely fine. She was never in any type of pain at all thank god, any information you can give me on this would be amazing, hope all is well with you all,

By the way I caught her red handed this morning going at this old little tree!

Not exactly like this, but...

When Maybull was a puppy, she jumped off the bed, yelped and started to limp. We freaked. The vet said it was a muscle pull, probably and we should keep her from jumping off or on furniture for a few days. She was fine. I think your bulldog will be OK, too.

I would crate her for a week at least to let that injury heal.

Then only outside on a leash for another week. You DO NOT want that injury to be an ACL tear! If she is already limping, I owuld restrain her for the time frame mentioned, just to be on the safe side.

They are little terrors, aren't they! So glad you didn't get hurt in your skid, and that all is going to be well with your pup.

Friday the 13th

really wasn't a good day for you. Glad you made it through O.K., a little rattled but O.K.

I would try to rest Tiny as much as possible, crating, no jumping on furniture, no stairs etc.,

Good luck and give that cutie a hug.

Emma had this.

Just started walking using 3 legs instead of 4. No pain and didn't seem to bother her at all. It only lasted a couple of days and then was fine. Now for you, SLOW down. Tiny needs you in one piece to take care of her. I know we worry about our bullies, but if in doubt take a cab or get a friend to drive you. We all need you in one piece.

Sorry to hear this happen

She is so cute with that tree limb. I would take Amy adivce. She might really hurt it if it does not bother her.

Ive been through two acl tears.. sounds like the start of one

I like to always air on the side of caution.. rest her for 4 weeks min.. give her joint supplements ASAp if you are not already doing so.. Lola limped on and off for a year on a torn ACL and it finally went completly.. I tired resting her but will honestly admit the second I saw her getting better I stopped resting her.. 4 strick weeks of crate or xpen.. it will seem like some days she is fine and like its punishment but these dogs can walk around normal on a partial tear.. keep in mind if its torn it will not repair or heal, only scar tissue will build up but aritius will come later in life.. You bully seems to be quite young so rest and recooperation.. I had to have both of Lola knees fixed.. she lost out on about 18 months of freedon and I lost about 8,000 bucks in cash.. not fun if I had to do it all over again I would have been alot more strick on the rest when she first started limping..  hope all is well and next Friday the 13th I would stay home!
