Thank you guys

BamBam's leaving was unexpected, it all happened so fast,

I guess it doesn't matter how long you have a  dog or where or how you got them, saying good-bye always rocks your world. I feel like the oxygen has been sucked out of my lungs and someone put marshmellows in my brain. So, I am having a hard time breathing and thinking. Thankfully, my boss is a true dog lover so she didn't expect too much from me today.

Most of us have been through this many times, for those that haven't - there is nothing that anyone can say or do to prepare you. So, we wonder why we keep doing it. Truthfully, I think it's kind of weird. When we know what losing a much loved pet can do to us, why do we do it all over again and again. Must be glutens for punishment. Weird.

Stephen and I now have only 3 dogs. We have had as many as 7. House feels empty, even with 3. Monster-a disabled Boston Terrier, Jack-a 12 year old JackRussell Terrier cross and Tug-a 6 year old Bulldog. I am thankful for all of them, it really does help having them here.

I think I won't be getting anymore dogs. We have said good-bye to 11 dogs in 12 years. Just can't do it anymore. I love dogs, I live dogs, anyone that has talked to me knows that I could talk dog all day long. They fascinate me, they are, in my opinion the only animal that qualifies as companions. And, for some strange reason, they seem to like us humans. They put up with all of our crap, forgive us for all of our faults and they rejoice when we come home from work. Try to find another person that will dance everytime you walk through the door, doesn't laugh at what you look like first thing in the morning, loves everything you cook, gets so excited to go for a car ride with you, listens to everything you tell them. They are without a doubt our best buddies. Dogs stick with us no matter what we present to them, moving, divorce, financial hardtimes, sickness, they only want to be with us. Amazing creatures.

So, I have babbled enough

Again, I want to thank everyone. It helps to know there are people that understand what it is like to lose one of these guys.

A few thoughts

You are a wonderful human being because you have given so many dogs a great life. Dogs are genetically connected to us, but not everyone understands that connection. I know that you are hurting, but we all know when we get a dog that their life span is so short. Maybe they've fufilled their purpose – loving  and giving joy. But, don't give up. Dog is love and you, as the special person you are, understand that.

Give yourself time to heal and know that you have friends in this community who understand your grief. Be Blessed!

But I think that all pet people are special

We all have met people that shutter at the thought of an animal living in their house. They sterilize their environments so that you wonder what they are like as parents.

Girl, you and dogs. It isn't going to be any other way.

You love them, they know it, and somehow they find their way into your house, heart and life. And that is just the way it is. Same here, only my "Big Dogs" are slightly more to care for but loved none the less. If I lost them all right now, I would go find more that need me. Same as you. It's only a matter of time Lynn, one will let it be known it is in need, and that big ol wonderful heart in you will respond because that is just who you are my dear friend. It's just who you are. And we love you how you are, and so do they, it's what makes you so entirely special in so many ways to so many of us, whether we be 2 legged or 4:-)

I'm not the one rescueing the "Bid Dogs"

How many of the horses/donkeys do you have that you planned on taking? But somehow they all found their way to your barn. LOL

Now, don't start counting here:-) Too many, let's just say that!

But...you KNOW you are gonna take that one in that gives you those dewy little eyes just begging for love. You know it.

And I will be right here rooting you on. Just like you do for me:-)

It is wondy here today, but going to be warmer. Tomorrow it will bein the 70's. Ahh, gotta love it:-)

Stay warm, and NO swirling dogs in the backyard. That is not allowed!
