Another week gone and it's already time for the Friday Survey. Sharpen your pencils (er....) and get ready to answer these provocative questions, if you dare:
1) When do the leaves begin to turn yellow/red/brown where you live?
2) Are you going to grill/BBQ this weekend?
What’s your favorite thing to grill/BBQ?
3) If you were given a two-week trip anywhere in the world starting tomorrow, with a private jet to accommodate all the bulldogs and other pets, and paid time off from work, where would you go?
4) How did you do on those required standardized tests in K-12? (Do you think that they actually prove anything?)
5) How often do you give (or have someone give) your bulldog or other dog a bath?
6) Does your dog prefer the floor or the couch?
7) If you were going to write a book, what would it be about?
8) Are there already a lot of political commercials where you live? (If you’re not in the USA, have you seen any commercials for your regional or local elections and are they as nasty as ours?)
9) Do you think that shooting your television when one of these ads comes on the screen should be legal?
10) What big city is the closest to you? (If you live in a big city, what bigger city?)
11) When you were a kid, were there a TV show that you wanted to watch but that your parents wouldn’t let you? What was it?
12) Time and temp where you live.
So that's it for this week. Hoping that your weekend is fun and your bulldogs don't eat your homework.
Survey says...
1) When do the leaves begin to turn yellow/red/brown where you live?
Normally it would be in Sept/October but with the dryness this year many of the leaves have already died and are falling.
2) Are you going to grill/BBQ this weekend? Forecast is for heavy rains all weekend so probably not.
What’s your favorite thing to grill/BBQ? Marinated pork tenderloin.
3) If you were given a two-week trip anywhere in the world starting tomorrow, with a private jet to accommodate all the bulldogs and other pets, and paid time off from work, where would you go?
To Oregon to see my kids- especially my grandkids who are eager to see Phoebe but will probably not be able to for some time due to the cost of flights. Also because of the concerns re flying Phoebe.
4) How did you do on those required standardized tests in K-12? (Do you think that they actually prove anything?)
Don't think we did them back then. Feel they can be an indicator of some problems/strengths but not willing to put 100% of my faith in the results. Kids do well or poorly for a variety of reasons not just one test result.
5) How often do you give (or have someone give) your bulldog or other dog a bath?
Not very often. She stays clean and smells good so unless that changes why do it?
6) Does your dog prefer the floor or the couch?
Loves the couch but gets too hot and moves to the floor.
7) If you were going to write a book, what would it be about?
I would write a child's dog agility book. There are no books available at a 6-7 year old reading level and my granddaughter would love to have one. P.S. If you do know of one please let me know. I have hunted but can only find adult books.
8) Are there already a lot of political commercials where you live? (If you’re not in the USA, have you seen any commercials for your regional or local elections and are they as nasty as ours?)
Living near the border we get all the commercials. Hurrah for the PVR. I record most of what I watch and thankfully can just fast forward through them.
9) Do you think that shooting your television when one of these ads comes on the screen should be legal?
NO.
10) What big city is the closest to you? (If you live in a big city, what bigger city?)
Toronto is our closest Canadian City and Buffalo the closest American city.
11) When you were a kid, were there a TV show that you wanted to watch but that your parents wouldn’t let you? What was it?
Oh yea. My dad loved Peyton Place but it was considered to risque for me. Now anything goes.
12) Time and temp where you live.
8:30 a.m. and the temp is a cool 18 degrees Celsius and its pouring rain.
answers
1) When do the leaves begin to turn yellow/red/brown where you live? They don't here.
2) Are you going to grill/BBQ this weekend? Nope. We live in an apartment with no grill. BOO. Plus DH is working, so I'm going to his restaurant instead.
What’s your favorite thing to grill/BBQ? pork or chicken
3) If you were given a two-week trip anywhere in the world starting tomorrow, with a private jet to accommodate all the bulldogs and other pets, and paid time off from work, where would you go? Japan for some sushi. Then China to see my parents. Then down to Australia to see some friends.
4) How did you do on those required standardized tests in K-12? (Do you think that they actually prove anything?) I can't really remember.
5) How often do you give (or have someone give) your bulldog or other dog a bath? Every 3 weeks or if when needed. He has this thing for rolling around in the mud.
6) Does your dog prefer the floor or the couch? He likes them equally the same.
7) If you were going to write a book, what would it be about? About living in the islands for 13 years.
8) Are there already a lot of political commercials where you live? (If you’re not in the USA, have you seen any commercials for your regional or local elections and are they as nasty as ours?) I've seen a few, but actually thought there would be more. This is my first presidential election in 14 years (was living in the islands), so I expected more than I'm seeing.
9) Do you think that shooting your television when one of these ads comes on the screen should be legal? I like my TV more than I hate the commercials.
10) What big city is the closest to you? (If you live in a big city, what bigger city?) We live in NOLA, so I guess Houston.
11) When you were a kid, were there a TV show that you wanted to watch but that your parents wouldn’t let you? What was it? Dallas
12) Time and temp where you live. 5:15pm Sat 92. The high tomorrow is 83. Woohoo.
