Stella has kind of an embarrassing question (blusing)
Submitted by Céline and Ange... on December 13, 2011 - 2:54pmHave any of you ever resorted to diapers for your aging bullies? We have a long walk to get outside and she's not always making it these days. And she's had some bladder control (read emptying) in the night as well.
She's on medication to help tighten up the sphincter (not working so far), has been tested for a UIT (not it) and full blood work done (all normal). So we're coming to the conclusion that it's mainly age related. Other than that, she's pretty healthy so no "decision" is to be made.
We've set up a "tinkle station" on our outdoor patio but so far she hasn't taken to it.
So, I'm looking into diapers. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Diapers are no fun...however if the help.
I dont know if she would have to wear them 24/7 or not - or at night only.
The tinkle station, if you could 'seed it' with her scent maybe she'd get the idea (next accident, take advantage of it)
I'm sorry Miss Stella is having this issue :( if only she had a shorter walk :(

Did you find a scent pole? That might help her want to go outside. Sorry I'm not more help.

Kora has that issue as well. She leaks a lot.
I have her on Proin and she hasn't had a leakage issue since she began taking it. Is that what you have Stella on?

We tied that, didn't work
So now she's on estrogen, which is what they used to use before Proin came along. So far, not much luck but she's only been on it 2 1/2 days, so I'm going to give it a chance.
I wish she could get it through her old, hard head to go in her nice "tinkle station" that mummy and daddy worked so hard on! Of course, she has no problem holding it in when I bring her out there :)
Girl Panties
Celine - There are tons of girl pantie makers that make very cute panties. You can get a larger size and put over her diaper, so she looks at least cute going outside. I would also carry a peepee pad with you and slide it under her when she starts to squat. Poor girl :(
I have a friend that has bulldogs that makes girl panties. I can get her email address and website if you like. She does an aweseome job and they are adorabull and made to fit a bulldog.

do you know if they are waterproof?
or just a decorative cover? I made diapers for my grandson and there is a lady on the diaper group that made some for her SB dogs. She was using 200+ disposables a month and needed something way more cost effective.
They are waterproof and re-usable.

try the adult diapers
I found them to fit and stay up better. Also get her some of those panties for dogs in heat. They help hold it in place or stay up better. Stella how is your secret garden doing daddy made that with so much love. Celine good luck.
