Speaking of 'snip snip' for Quigley..Questions.

I've never had a boy bullie before and need some advice on snip-snip. (Shhhh...Quigley's right here.)

Our breeder says wait until 8 months but our vet says 6 months. Any recommendations?

Also, how long does it take for him to recover from surgery? Any other advice?

Thanks!!!!

I will whisper this so Quigley doesn't hear

We had tucker done at 7 months although he could have gotten snipped at 6 months but he happened to have a stomach bug. He spent the whole day at the vets. I think he was limited to small walks for a week and no jumping up on the couch etc. it's harder for the humans to keep them lazy! He healed up with no problems. Good luck!

We weren't given age parameters, but I can tell you that Meaty

was around 2, and he did VERY well  :-)  Of couse, Mommy was worried about the anesthesia, but his vet knows

his stuff, and all went well.  I think we had to keep him from jumping for a few days---?? Sorry, it was a couple years ago...

but he definitely did very well .....!!!   ((( HUGS )) to Quigley!

I would go with breeder recommendation...

But no, there is no real issue if you neuter him at 6 months. I have never had a dog have a problem being neutered. My last one was Pal, a 2 year old stray that found us. I took him down and he was neutered and I brought him home the same day. He was out running chores with me the next day, though I would rather he wait a few days.

Snip, snip!

Apollo was around 6 mos as well.  He was home the same day and I just had to watch the jumping.  He healed quickly.
