Speaking of fasting, here's a weird diet problem

We eat a generally healthy diet with a lot of veggies and whole grains. Well, David is getting a 'procedure' and they've told him that for two days (next Sun and Mon) he (which means we) have to eat a low-fiber diet. Fruit and vegetables are restricted. We're trying to figure out what to eat.

I was thinking of linguine with clam sauce, but we can't have a salad with it. No broccoli or brussel sprouts. Some grilled or fried chicken is OK, but I can't make a stew, cause of the veggies in it. We can't even eat potatoes with skins.

Then, starting a week from Friday, Passover begins and it's no grains or grain products (pasta, rice, bread, corn chips, tortillas, Cheetos...) or anything made with grains (single malt scotch, grain vodka, beer) and we'll only have wine, rum, tequila and potato vodka. We'll have lots and lots of meat, though.

No Help sorry

but I love brocoli and brussel sprouts, can't say thet most would be upset not egtting to eat those vegies...LOL!

Sounds like the menu will be meat, water and alcohol.

WOW that sounds like my diet except - -

To the Meat, Water and Alcohol you HAVE to add Bread and Butter, then you have a complete 'Rick Diet'  :)

Good luck with it, hopefully its only for a short, very short, period of time.

hashbrowns???

I like low carb diets, but I do love my green veggies.  nothing better than some roasted brussel sprouts or cauliflower!

Nice of you to follow the same diet and be so supportive

I don't really have a problem with the Passover stuff

I've got the Passover stuff down – been doing it for years and it just means that I have to check labels (no grains means no corn syrup, no rice flour, no soy proteins or oil in addition to the obvious no noodles, bread, rice, etc.)

We'll eat a lot of fish, chicken and meat. And potatoes. Veggies are good during Passover. I make my own salad dressing with lemon instead of vinager, leave the noodles out of the veggy soups...I can skip the beans/rice/noodles/cookies/etc for a week. Finding crunchy, salty snacks can be a pain, but there's always nuts and potato chips cooked in allowed oils. We can eat pretty good during Passover.

It's the two days of no good fruit, veggies or fiber that has me wondering what to eat. I'm thinkin' that if we just eat the regular American diet, we should be OK. Meat, white bread, cookies...that should do it.
