Sophia is thankful for....

Her family:-) Especially her sister, Kora the Doberman, who went missing yesterday morning at 9 am and was gone until almost 6 am this morning. No idea where she went on her walk about tour, but she came home exhausted, muddy, hardly able to walk, and cold. Sophie, for maybe the first time ever, was GLAD to see her big sister walk in the door:-) And needless to say, Sophie and Kora's momma and poppa were plenty pleased to see her home, too:-)

Other than that, Sophie, her sisters and brothers, mommy and daddy, are thankful for each other, our extended family, our friends in life, and our faithful, loving, and forgiving Father in Heaven, God. And for His Son, Jesus. Thank you:-)

Kora

Amy, I would guess that you were just about crazy yesterday. Wow, wonder where she was.

Thankfully, she is home.

What a lousy way to spend Thanksgiving.

I have no earthly idea where she was!

I drove everywhere I could get my truck into. There is a small burg up the road from us a bit, and thinking maybe Kora would hear me and have time to get to my voice if I were walking instead of driving, I walked to Boonsville and back calling, calling. Nothing. (Well, nothing but totally sore legs! I walked in my cowboy boots!) We drove out into the neighbors fields, called, spotlighted overnight to see if we could see her eyes, nothing. Then she just showed up in the carport yesterday morning. Good grief! I was sure glad to see her again though, so glad! She slept until late last night, went out to potty, came in again and went back to sleep. She was on the couch all day long yesterday! Today she seems back to herself. I will see how she is feeling and may ask if she wants to go do horses with me, her previously most favorite thing ever:-) If she bounces off the couch to come along, I'll know she is over her little trip:-)

Maybe she accidentally got locked in someone's barn or garage?

what a scare.

Try sneakers next time you decide to go hiking.

Glad she is home and doing O.K.

Sneakers would have been a good idea:-)

I didn't think about it though, I just went!

I think she got stuck in a ravine near us that has a shallow creek in it. She initially ran off because our neighbors were shooting shotguns really, really close to us. Kora hates gunshots, so off she went. She has never run away from me though, she has always, always gone straight to the house. But this time she was gone. I think she got to the road, turned left, headed out that way and then went to the right of the bridge abuttment. I think she slipped and went into the very steep, high walled ravine. She had to travel a long distance in teh water, knee deep, to get back up where she could climb out. In her weakened condition she is already in, it may have taken her hours and hours to figure a way out, but she came right home as soon as she was out of whereever she was!

I am just so glad she is here. She got right up and went out with me this morning but I brought her in early to let her rest some. Don't want to overdo it quite yet.

Sheesh Amy!

Like you needed THAT on Thanksgiving.  Maybe Kora wanted you to be thankful for just one more thing - her coming home!

I'm so glad she found her way back to her sofa and dish - and her sissy!

LOL! Nope, I didn't need that yesterday!

But we are ever so thankful for her being home again:-)

LOL! I don't think she was having fun!

There are so many coyotes and wild pigs out there, I bet she was not having a bit of fun! But she is glad to be home, and we are glad to have her, no matter where she was!

that is something to be

that is something to be thankful for....how frightening!! glad she came home...does it work the same for dogs as kids, that the dirtier they are the more fun they had?!?!

LOL! I think for some dogs, yes. But not this girl!

Poor Kora, she has really bad knees and somewhat bad hips, and I think she probably slipped into a ravine near us that had water and was really muddy. I don't think she could get out because she is so old and pretty weak in her hind end. Poor old girl, she is not so excited about going outdoors anymore:-(
