SoCal Vet recommendations

Fellow bulldoggers in southern California, which vets have you been to that you would recommend?  I see a lot listed, but I'd really like to hear about your experiences with them.  I'm in San Clemente, but I don't mind driving a little.  Stig has what appears to be recurrent staph infections, and even after trying just about every food (all grain free), I've decided it must be environmental.  I took him to a holistic vet a few months ago, because I was tired of him constantly being on antibiotics and antihisthimines only to have the same infection pop back up within a few weeks, but they gave me....antibiotics and antihisthamines.  I have been putting a little coconut oil in his food once a day, and I'm considering having his thyroid tested, but I want to first find a good vet that can tell me whether they think that's something that needs to be done.  Thanks in advance!

hey FATBOY ! help this bully out will ya?

I think Fatboy is familar w/ Southern Californa (But I have been known to be wrong in the past !)

Dr. Butchko in Riverside--long drive for you but there are a lot of owners who drive a lot farther. Wait can be atrocious--they do not take appt. Prices are very fair. If specialist is needed then All Care which I think is in Huntington Beach. Very expensive but very good.

San Diego

We loved our vets, Dr. Berg & Dr. Altman, at Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital in Ocean Beach. Dr. Berg has two rescued bulldogs of her own but it's impossible to go there and not run into a bulldog in the waiting room.

Butchko, Riverside CA

Hi, We have taken all our bullies to Dr. Butchko in Riverside on Mission Blvd.  It's a family run vet office with 4 Butchko's specializing in bullies for many years.  He is very reasonable and can diagnose quickly.  He has delivered all our puppies as well.  Please note you may have a bullie with skin allergies that may need to be on med's constantly ( I have one) Good Luck

Thank you for all your

Thank you for all your suggestions (and your thoughts and prayers - they are just as appreciated).  I surely hope he doesn't have to be on allergy meds forever, because they haven't seemed to help on their own, but if we can find something that isn't bad for him that will make him comfortable, then I would be ecstatic.
