Ollie has always hated other dogs. If we see another dog while walking down the street, he goes ballestic and we've always kept him away from strangers. He and Oscar got along since we had Oscar first, and when he passed, we adopted Chester who was a puppy and after a few weeks he tolerated him also. We were really afraid to add Newman to the mix since he was 8 months old, but we decided to give it a try. At first Ollie would charge him and try to imtimidate him, but every time he did it, Newman would fall over on the floor or bow down to Ollie with his butt in the air. Ollie would just look at him like WTH! After a while, Ollie forgot he hated Newman and this is a picture of the two of them together, something I never thought I would see!

Aww so sweet! They definitely amaze us sometimes. My German Shepherd, Thor doesn't like strange dogs either and anytime I've added a dog to our pack, it's always been a puppy. I was very worried about how he would react when we brought home Sissy last year but now they are best buddies, often snuggling together on the couch or grooming each other.
