Mr. Seamus will be 5 months old on Sept 23rd and is just about 30lbs. He is doing awesome! Quick question, we are moving apartments (into a bigger unit) in about a week. Do you think this will effect his potty training? The layout of the apartment is very different from our apartment now ... the front door in down a hallway instead of right in the kitchen.
Also, we are trying to work on Seamus walking on the leash. He is very stubborn, which I know it characteristic of all bulldogs. He doesn't pull or walk in front of me, but many times he just stands or sits and won't budge. Is there something I can do?
Here are some new pictures of Mr. Seamus!
Mr. Seamus in his new sweater thanks to our niece Grace (3 years old and absolutely adores Seamus!)

He is so cute!
Love your family photo. As long as you continue with the same routine in your new house he should have no problem. Are you rewarding him with treats when he does what you want? That may help with him walking on leash.
Precious!!!
I love him and his name too!!

Oh my!
What an absolute doll!!! Keep those pictures coming, please!
Adorabull, love that shot on the couch.
I had the same problem with Duchess walking she would just stand there, she hated it. I got a martingale collar and the trainer told me to just keep
moving, she will get the message. Now she walks really good on the leash.

As far as the walking on a leash-- At his age you want to go for loose leash walking . When he walks you want the leash to be loose to the point where it makes a loop from your hand to him. There are a couple of steps to teaching this skill.
Part one
Have some treats ready.
Relax and hold the leash near your body.
Reward him for being calm and paying attention.
If he pulls out to the end of the leash, don't move and don't try to reel him in.
Wait for him to return to you.
When he does reward him..
Part two
Say, "His name, Let's go" and take a step.
Keep him relatively close to you.
If he dashes to the end of the leash make a quick about turn and walk the other way. He'll get a bit of a jerk but also the message.
He'll soon learn to pay attention and stay with you.
Reward him while he is walking as you want him to not when you stop.
Walk him about 30 minutes a day.
Change up the treats.
I like a Martingale collar.
This worked well with Phoebe and maybe it will with Seamus.
love the photos!

hahha ... My husband is from Philly and is a die hard Philadelphia fan. He has lived in DC for close to 12 years but said it would be traiterous to change teams and I shouldn't EVER bring it up again lol
Is he treat motivated?
Otis does awesome on his walks, but when we first got him he would do the same thing...flat out REFUSE to move. I started taking treats on his walks to lure him to move those little legs. It helped somewhat, but I think he also just learned eventually on his own. If Seamus is treat motivated (which I'm guessing he is since he is a bulldog) maybe you could try it. Patience is key!!!
