On Sunday we noticed that Rugs was trying to hack something up (sounded a little flemmy) and yesterday our dog walker texted telling me that she didn't like the sound of his cough. Thinking it may have been allergies, we got home, heard him and immediately packed him up to visit the vet. Well, Rugs has an upper respiratory infection and is now taking antibiotics. So happy that hopefully he will get better, but he can't be around other dogs for 5-7 days which will be torture for him as he is the social chair of our building.
This was the face I had to leave this morning and it absolutely broke my heart:
Hang in there Rugby! By next week you'll be so happy to be out
you'll forget you were ever sick :)
Fatboy aka Stinky :)
Glad you took him
and hope he is feeling better soon!
Sad little boy
He'll be feeling better soon. You might want to consider giving him a little plain yogourt with his dinner and meds. The antibiotics can sometimes upset their tum, tum.
Thank you...
Our doctor did warn us the medication could make his tummy upset so we have been giving it to him with cheese after he finishes eating. I might give him some yogurt tonight as he LOVES it. In addition, I will snuggle and kiss him as I hate him being under the weather...
Yes, sunggling and kissing makes everything better
Watch it though, he might figure out if he puts on a sad face you'll give him extra snuggles. They can be smart that way :)
aww.......poor guy!!!! and poor YOU, having to leave that sweet
wittle face!!! I know it had to be sooo hard---((( HUGS ))).Hope the antibiotics will kick that infection OUT!

Poor Rugby!
Poor Rugby! Raleigh had the same thing and just got over it a few weeks ago. She was coughing and sneezing like crazy and the vet told us she had an upper respiratory infection. After 5 days of yogurt added to the meal and antibiotics she was getting better and after 10, she was fully healed. She hated not being able to go out for a walk during that time, but she was so happy when she could again and actually walked half a mile and back (the first and only time she hasn't made us carry her back). Get well soon, Rugby and I'm sure you'll be back to being a social butterfly soon. :)

Hope he feeling better
Allergy seem to take their toll on all of us. I have to give Loulou Bendryl just to keep them at bay. Hope he feels better.
