Question about switching from harness to collar
Submitted by CathyandAudrey on September 10, 2012 - 11:20amI have always been afraid of hurting Audrey with a collar, which of course is crazy because she is not that fragile! It's all mental for me.... anyways, I want to use a martingale type collar on her, but not sure if I should start with a wider one or a narrower one?
From what I can find so far, I will make a buckle collar, because I don't want tio have to adjust it everytime I put it on her. It will be nylon webbing.
What do you guys think is the best for beginners, both human and dog?

Wider is better
less severe then a narrow collar. When you start walking her with it use both together until she gets used to the collar, and lots of treats. Agree the harness buckles are very usefull when putting the collar on especially with our big headed dogs.
