PLEASE help - 6 month old pup insists on pooping in crate

I am at wits end! I have a otherwise wonderful 6 month old male bully who I've had since he was 9 weeks old. The first 2 months were fine but starting about a month ago he insists on pooping in his crate. I have tried everything from reducing crate size, making his last feeding at 4pm instead of 7pm. Most nights (like last night) he will poop at midnight when I take him out only to have pooped again till I check again at 6AM.
His crate size is right (only enough room to stand/lie down in), food schedule is good, quality of food is top notch and plenty of exercise. He does not complain about being in crate and does not poop in the house.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

talk with your vet...

and make sure there isn't any medical reason for him to be doing that.  I'm not an expert and I know others will have some more ideas, but that's my suggestion.  Good luck!

Not an expert either...

But have you changed the bedding at all? Not talking about just washing it, but getting something completely new.  I've heard any residual smell of their urine or poop can make them think that is an okay spot to go to all the time. I hope you can get this figured out.

A product we have had a Huge Success with removing Odor etc

Poor Gizmo decided to go into heat the same week as her Spay was scheduled - Needless to say, I had to transport her in my car - and it was ahhh... ahhh well  IT STUNK UP MY CAR  !      we've had great success with

GET SERiOUS! Pet Stain, Odor and Pheromone Extractor             (There is a Dog and a Cat Formula)

To remove the odor, and when there have been accidents on the carpet, its been our favorite product.

I'll suggest removing the bedding, using this product (or similar) and wipe down the whole kennel - I would also let them stay in the kennel w/out any bedding, until the problem is resolved (why keep replacing bedding, washing etc ?)

I have no other ideas, I'm sorry.

Has he done this all along?

Or is it a recent development?  If it's recent, I'd have him checked out in case he's got a bit of a tummy infection.

Also, if it's been from the beginning, maybe his food is not agreeing with him.  You might want to discuss a change of food with your vet.

Does he do it every day or is it just occasional?
