I am looking in to getting pet insurance, I absolutely am going to get insurance mainly due to Tiny's previous leg incident which thankfully turned out to be fine.I am just curious as to what companies all of you would recommend? My breeder recommended Trupanion and I am looking in to that now as we speak. I actually have a vet appointment tomorrow morning so I am hoping I can make a final decision by then, any thoughts suggestions on a specific company for pet insurance?
Of course I will add a pic, Tiny cuddling with daddy this morning after our daily morning walk!
Hey, we recently picked up
Hey, we recently picked up insurance for Oliver. After doing a lot of looking we went with Healthy Paws. I liked Trupanion but you have to reach the deductable on each condition before the insurance will start to cover rather than an anual deductable. Healthy Paws covers all congenital diseases as long as they arent already diagnosed and from all the reviews I read, you send in the claim and get your money back within a couple of days. I think its a smaller company so that may be why it seems to have better service. You can adjust for the deductable and amount of coverage you want. Insurance is a lot more expensive in California so we opted for a high deductable and lower premium because our real concern is if there is any huge medical issue that comes up.
I put a policy on Vernon
I put a policy on Vernon through Trupanion. The reviews I read along with personal recommendations helped me make my decision. I liked that I could adjust the deductible and monthly premium to an amount that I was comfortable with. All insurances exclude pre-existing conditions & I wanted the policy to protect us against a costly medical situation.
I haven't used the policy yet (thank goodness), so I cannot tell you how the claims process works.
Good luck & Tiny is a total cutie :)
Don't
go with AKC they cover none of the bulldog issue's. I use Embrace and it is awesome. You can choose whatever you want. They cover everything except for preexisting conditions. Good luck
