I have had alot of people say Lola looks like a old english bully.. I admit she doesnt fit the typical bully look, shes more longer and leaner and less of a huge head with wrinkles.. any thoughts?

I'm not an expert, it took me a while to figure out that olde english bulldog wasn't the same as an english bulldog. But she is beautiful no matter what she is!

the breeder works at it, they breathe so much easier than Chester who is more smooshy. They are definitly bulldogs though and your girl looks like one too.

She could definitely be Olde English according to whatever they have as their standard. Longer in leg and back, and what we call as "Nosey". Many people think a "Nosey" dog breaths better. Not necessarilary so. My major pointed bitch out of Ester's first litter has a lovely layback with a properly placed nose, and she is a great breather. Breathing has a lot to do with tight nares as well and palettes. If you wanted a show dog then no she is not close enough to the standard to be shown...but if you just wanted a lovely pet then it doesn't really matter. Keep in mind every litter that is born for show purposes will have pet quality puppies in the litter. It is extremely rare to have a whole litter of show quality puppies.
The problem I have with breeders that don't breed to the standard is that the bulldog breed will eventually be like so many other breeds where the show dogs and the pets look nothing alike. For instance the Min. Schnauzers, Poodles, Cockers, Poms, Yorkies, etc.

i'd know it was time to re- do the botox. 'm not familliar w olde english, but she looks like an gorgeous engish to me-- either way she is a beautiful bulldog...how old? james went thru some wierd growth spurts where i was convinced they switched him at birth with a boxer.

i have heard a lot about breeders tending back toward a taller, leaner, less wrinkled look. the stocky, short faced bulldog is associated with health problems and has earned a bad rap. someone told me once that some judges and breeders are turning away from that. some people feel that breeding for the typical bullie look we all love is actually detrimental to the breed.

I get the same comments about chester too:)
Sometimes I wonder too???
I wonder if Lola and Gizmo are sisters?
Cause boy do they look (Physically) alike ! (or it just me?) just different markings, but same type of body shape etc
Gizmo will be 2 in Feb and is 52 lbs now, and all we know is she was breed in Oklahoma
Last steps taken May 26, 2014 -- Been rolling along ever since . . . .
maybe its Oklahoman water
Kippah came from OK too, maybe it is something in the water, but she is starting to look like Gizmo's baby sister with her smile.
