Thank you, everyone, for your support. I know all of you are animal lovers. They are so special to all of us. They give us so much love, no matter what. They touch our hearts forever. Sue (The Warden)

The Warden and I decided that we each wanted to have our chance to express our sentiments to all of you. Thank you, so much, for all your prayers, words and good thoughts. We could feel your electricity in the air. How wonderful it is to have such great loving friends who understand and can empathize in times of tragedy and pain. We were blessed to have Lily and Chunk for as long as we did and just their very existence enriched our lives beyond words. We have so many pictures and memories of our beloved babies that will last us far into the future. Speaking of the future, we have no plans yet. It's still going to take a while to adjust to such a quiet house. Everywhere we look, there's a memory lurking to remind us of how it used to be. We smile and shake our heads at the irony of the situation, each time it occurs. The Warden selected the pics of Lily. I was going to caption them, but rather, after thinking about it, I'm going to let you provide your own captions. And yes, that one pic is Lily's version of impersonating a "Cajun Hussy". her favorite bullies. Again, thank you for your support. It has helped in such a special way. And as I always say at a time like this, "Where's my rum?" Bill (The Pirate)

she was beautiful...so white just like Ms Sugar was.... it is so hard, and we understand...I can't believe in a couple of weeks it will be two years since Ms Sugar left us.....we miss her and Gracie so very much~~~ hugs to you guys... we just returned from Florida, what a beautiful week, no rain~~~

As I sat here this morning and looked at your photos and read your initial post about your loss, it brought back such memories of our boy, Xavier. He was almost twelve when we lost him in June of this year. He was such a great friend and family member. As you know, the scars run so deep when bidding farewell to one of our family members. With a great deal of hesitation, we went out and brought another member into our family this past September. Jake has come in and we have started a new begginning with him. Although our "X Man" will never be replaced, Jake is making us look ahead and look back with even fonder memories of his predecessor. What ever you decide to do in the future, please accept our sincere sympathy about your loss. However, know there is a little one out there that will help you with your pain.

Hi,

I am new to the forum, but I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you for the loss of your fur babies. I know how hard it is, as I lost 2 dogs to cancer in the past year since last September. I loved them so much.

We could not get used to the quiet house and about a month after Duke's passing, I told my husband I could not live without a dog; thus, we got our first minature english bulldog--1/4 pug in August.

We still shed our tears now and then for Duke and Jerry Lee, and we miss them so. Time does tend to heal all wounds....
