O/T...electronic issues
Submitted by SNACPete on March 8, 2012 - 11:08amI'm having issues with the laptop and now phone. It took 5 tries to get my pictures downloaded. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having issues today? I'm hoping its just the solar flares and not my laptop going on the fritz.

If problems on both PC and Phone . . .
THen it isnt a hardware issue, so you PC *probably* isnt going on the fritz -
you dont say what type of error (if any) you get while you are trying to download, upload pictures -
I tried for 6 hours to upload a video to You-tube from my phone, to finally having to UNinstall and REinstall the Youtube app. Somehow my 'Google' account took over my Youtube account, and it would never work the way its set up.
Sun Spots? Solar Flares? well... yea, they COULD cause problems, but I dont think as much as the press is reporting - they tend to put in the 'fear factor' for ratings.

Our local AM station was off the air for 15 minutes on Tue...
from this event. Yesterday my phone kept dropping calls in areas where I always have good service (really irritated the snot out of me). This solar even actually is causing issues, it isn't just hype this time.

Something with the internet
I think something is messing with the wi-fi. I was watching a netflix movie on the tv and came back to finish it, now I can't even get to the internet because of interference (says my tv). Yet I can get the internet on my laptop. However, the internet kept having to restart on my laptop earlier when I was trying to download my pics. Not sure if the phone issue is related because it just happened once. I know that on Tuesday, we lost direct tv for about 15 minutes due to the solar flare (says direct tv). But the way this day is going, this is my Friday the 13th.

No problems here – yet.
There was a solar flare in the mid-1800s that disrupted the telegraph, so there's no telling what this might do. This storm may keep up until Friday morning.
Ayup:-) Seriously big solar flare storm today into tomorrow.
Plan on things not being quite right until Saturday. I have been having phone issues for several days, and today my internet stuff is goofy.
