I do all breed horse rescue, and this is one of my TB girls I have had about 18 months now. I am really tickled with her development and growth. She is 5.5 years old and still has some growing to do, but I like showing progression pics:-) Plus, I am proud of my "kids" and like to show them off!!!
This is "Red", her registered name is "Minna Rush Red", after her sire "The Black Minnaloushe".
THEN: (these pics don't depict the shape she was in when I first saw her. These two pictures were taken about 3 weeks after I took over her care)

Wow and double Wow...
What an incredibly beautiful animal she is thanks to your love and care. A huge thanks on her behalf and congratulations for the work you do. She is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thanks Carol...
I do love that girl:-) She dwarfs me, and I am 6 feet tall. She is HUGE. She is a grand daughter of Storm Cat, great grand daughter of Terlingua, and great, great grand daughter of Secretariat. I think she is fantasic:-)
Thanks for your response:-)

Oh wow!
She's just lovely!
Question (maybe a dumb one): once you get your rescued horses in good shape like this, do you keep them? Or do you sell them/give them away to worthy owners? Is it like bulldog rescue?
I am keeping Red.
She is going to be a great dressage horse someday. She is huge and graceful and lovely in motion. I can't wait to get her in the ring!!
I have kept most of my rescues, but if they are not what I can handle in my herd, or I think I won't be able to use them in the discpline they will excel in, then I find great homes for them that will do everything the horse needs to be successful.

Red is absolutely gorgeous,
thanks to you. Look at the difference in how she is holding her ears. She is so much more confident now. Wow, she is a big girl. She must be over 17 hands. I just want to "THANK YOU" for doing what you do.

Beautiful--what a difference &
I have a question. Maybe you have a suggestion. I have a hard time keeping weight on my Peruvian Paso gelding. I think the heat takes a lot out of him I didn't have a problem when in Calif.--in fact, just the opposite. It was a battle keeping wieght off him! I am feeding a high calorie pelleted grain (feed store recommendation) twice a day and alfalfa twice a day (was feeding grass hay in AM but went to alfalfa thinking higher calorie). He is not wormy. No health problems and vet (didn't think much of him) had no suggestions and said he looked ok to him. I think ribs are too prominant, flanks look too hollow, and tail bone too prominant. Any suggestions? You can pm me

Miriam, I pm'd you:-)
I will check throughout the day for your answers and can make a recommendation then.

Not Amy - But you might try Beet Pulp
We fed it to our performance horses because Alfalfa is way to hot for pleasure horses and grass (Timothy) hay just didn't keep the weight on them. Especially with the amount of work they got. So my trainer fed Peet Pulp, grain, grass hay, alfalfa once a day and Peet Pulp. We soaked the pellets in the morning for the evening feeding, 5 or 6 little scoops of pellets will fill up a 1/2 gallon container. We had a hard time keeping weight on my girl (she was like a greyhound) no extra weight and fit as a fiddle, but too lean (ribby) at a horse show is just not good especially when I used her for my Non-Pro showmanship horse.
oooh!!! nice going
oooh!!! nice going girl...nothing like traeting an animal back to health
