Just thought I'd share this experience, because I know it's something I'll go back and reflect upon at times when the world seems an unfriendly place.
I was walking home from lunch yesterday, kind of my own world, when I this infectious, resonating laugh breaks through my reverie. This little blond boy, probably about 2 or 3 years of age was giggling his head off, strolling down the street with his mom. The pure joy of that sound, and the looks he and his mother were exchanging, just made me stop. And I wasn't the only one. A harried man with his iPhone, a bike courrier, a women getting into her car, a girl walking her dog... We were all staring at this happy little man - and SMILING. There was nothing else you could do. The child and his mother never noticed any of us, so absorbed they were in each other. It was a really special moment.
the most beautiful sound in the world...
a child's laughter...and/or children squealing w/delight...!!!
beautiful story...i can actually envision it...thnq for sharing! :)))
Laughing babies/children
is one of the best sounds there is. =) Thanks for sharing that.
thanks
Thanks for posting that, I needed to read that right at this moment. I had to send a text to my daughter asking her to forgive me for yelling at her the majority of the way to school this morning.....reflecting on those giggly moments just makes me realize it is THOSE times that are important, not the laundry that didnt get moved or the mess on the front lawn that did not get picked up.
We still have those uncontrollable laughter moments, and she is 15.....my 20 yr son usually starts it...once she is laughing so hard she turns red and stops breathing we classify her as 'broken'. THOSE are the moments we all need to remember
