me! as it says in my signature, every 3.5 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. cancer isn't right for adults.......please help me help the kids. on may 19, we will be shaving our heads here in support of kids with cancer and to raise money to help support research that IS making progress. St. Baldrick's is a wonderful foundation. the latest report is $17 million has been raised already this year!! there is an event 365 days in 2012!! last year's total was something like $21 million! it's thanks to folks like you who help every $ count and matter. i, all to well, understand how economically difficult times are. never fear, 'a penny or a prayer'.......if you are unable to donate to my head or anyone else of your choosing, please, just think of us on may 19 and offer a prayer or thought for the kids. i KNOW we will win the cancer war, and it will be because of all of you!
thank you SO much. visit my site listed below or www.stbaldricks.org for more info. don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions.

For those w/ long hair who will be shaving it - - -
Look into "Locks of Love" http://www.locksoflove.org they take hair donations and they make wigs for children cancer patients - there is a minimum length -
Q. Why is the minimum length 10 inches?
A. The manufacturing process uses up to two inches, leaving only eight inches (jaw length). Most of the children who receive hairpieces from Locks of Love are little girls, and most want long hair. When we need to provide a hairpiece to a boy, we use some of the shorter lengths that have been separated by hand from each donated ponytail.
Support 2 causes with 1 action :) :) :) Good Luck to all

what a cool cause! :)
I had a friend on Facebook mention something about this last year but I did not know what it is was (I think I missed his post explaining what it was). His entire office group actually participated (girls included). The pictures were really awesome. :)

As a mother of a pediatric cancer survivor, I can't even begin to tell you how much support means to the families. Not just from their own family and frineds, but from perfect strangers, the doctors, and especially the nurses who become family. Skyler has decided not to shave his head this year (his hair just grew back in a few months ago), but he did say he would do it next year and every year after that.
