O/T My latest rescue gelding

I got this boy in yesterday from our county Sheriff's Dept. He is a 2.5 year old Thoroughbred gelding, very negelcted but at least not abused. He will be looking better with some serious groceries! No name picked out for him yet...

He is wet in the first two pics.

And his coat color after dry...

I hope he will gain health quickly, but sad to say it will take a while to get his MENTAL health back in shape. I usually give it a year, that way he is totally fit, relaxed with my herd, found his place, and then I declare them sound:-)

that's just awful. Poor guy. He has no idea how good his life has become. Wish you luck introducing him to the herd.

And such a baby still. He has injuries to all four ankles just below the fetlock (ankle joint) and just above the coronary band (right above the hoof). He sure had a bad start to things, but my husband has claimed this one as his own and NOW the spoiling begins:-) Once that man sets his mind to something, it gets going!
