This morning it was dark when I had to start feeding horses at 7:45 am. Now this afternoon, I am sitting here looking out the window. My clock says it is 5 pm, and I am thinking "ok, so at this time yesterday it was 4 pm and I have another hour before I can start feeding horses to keep my schedule, but then I am going to miss church tonight". I hate daylight savings time.
Rant over:-)

why does that 1hr seem like
why does that 1hr seem like 5?!unbelievable!!!
I think the time change in the winter is worse . . .
Because it just seems like its 'dark' all of the time (I go to work at 5am, so its dark) and then its dark about 4pm !
I dont mind the other direction in the spring :)

DLS
Now that we are only "off" DLS for 4 mos (clocks change again 11/4) I don't know why it is necessary to change time. Why not just keep DLS year round and then no readjustment in schedules are necessary. And why is AZ exempt from DLS?

I love DLS.
In the winter it gets dark at 4:30. Because of DLS, it won't get dark until after 7:00 now and 9:00 at the solstice. I can walk the dog, sit on the deck and sip wine, bike to the store, garden or show houses to clients without it being dark and cold. Not so good for the farmers, but I love it.
Well since you put it that way...
I love the evening part of the day, not so much the morning feeding in the dark again until it gets light earlier. Just did that all winter!

Exactly
Mornings are dark in the winter DLS or not and the extra light in the afternoon is nice.

I'm with you
None of us are handling this well except for the cat who gets to eat earlier. Even Jack didn't want to get out of his crate this morning.
