SHORT PEOPLE! I need your help.
I'm looking for a new (used) car. I need a compact hatchback under $16.5K.
I have been looking at the Ford Focus 2011 and 2012 and have found that the seat doesn't fit me. The bottom of the seat is just a little longer than my upper leg, which puts strain on my lower back.
I've looked at the FIT and while I like it, the head rest is built for taller people and hits me in a way that even when I'm not leaning back, it forces my head forward.
Does ANYONE have a solution for one of these OR another car suggestion? Thanks!
Look at the Ford Fiesta.
Good luck! You can always test drive them all to see what you like best.
Sarah
Thanks!
Thanks! I've test driven five different cars so far. I did try the fiesta, but I need to drive clients around in the car (it's not ALL about the bulldog) and this is minnesota, so many folks are bigger and taller Scandihoovians. I am getting frustrated.
Thanks!

How Frustrating
I'm 4'11" so I understand your pain. I have a Subaru Outback so I'm no help, but I do love my car. I'll be interested to see what you end up with. In the next 5-7 years I will have to replace my car and I want something little that I'll be able to tow behind an RV. Mini Cooper is on my wish list, but I may want to look as something cheaper and I'm not so sure the gas mileage is all that great on a mini.
I'll post the car I get....
The Mini Coopers are very cute and are bigger inside than you'd think. But, I've heard that they and the Smart Car aren't so great as you'd think on gas milage.
try a gti!
I am asian and have a bunch of short friends! volkswagon gti's are always fun. german cars drive funner then japanese ones!
sincerely, christine
Try the Toyota Yaris. My
Try the Toyota Yaris. My daughter has one, she is taller than I am, and has plenty of room, but it is a smaller fit for smaller people too...
