Besides looking for the best quality food, that has no corn or wheat, I have read many times about keeping the protien percentage low, in order to keep her joint growth at a slow and steady pace.
Am I correct in this? Kippah did not really like the salmon and sweet potato (Costco one) in fact we were at a hotel this weekend and we clearly saw that she had only eaten about a cup in 24 hours. At home the Bostons were taking from her bowl too, so I could not really see exactly how much she was eating lately.
So we picked up a chicken and brown rice Avoderm. and we are going to try that on her.
BUT, again, I wonder about the protien % recommended by you guys. I was reading on another bulldog site, (they feed alot of Royal Cainin) and they like their foods HIGH protien. Personally RC had horrible food when I showed Persian Cats, so I never even looked at them for BD food, but I do see they are high protien---along with many corn byproduct fillers
Rambling much? Yeah, long weekend, only a few hours sleep, but some good Kippah Picts coming soon

I try to stay below 30%
I don't like royal canin food either.
I stay at 25% or so.
Higer than that is too much in my opinion unless they are a hyper spastic breed or a working dog.

Fatboy never did well on high % of protein.
We've got him around 29% and he's doing well (no ear infections, messy folds etc).
Fatboy aka Stinky :)
Lola is on Orijen its over 30%..maybe 35 no issues
She is quite muscular and we have seen no issues.. Its ranked the best food since 2010.. I think it gives her more energy for sure but high protein is touch and go.. works for some doesnt for others but no where have I read that there is a magic% to stay below or above. Protein is great for humans and dogs alike
