So Jack is proving himself to be one little troublemaker. Everyone played outside yesterday and I did my best to keep him from eating acorns, rocks, leaves, and sticks while keeping a 2 yr old from doing the same. Thought we did well until 4:30 when he started heaving. That lasted for about a minute but he did drink water and eat a piece of his food so we crated him to let him rest. I was thinking it might have just been a piece of leaf caught in his throat like a popcorn kernel might do and he was just trying to dislodge it. He wasn't having problems breathing and was acting fine. At about 6:30pm he woke from his nap and really started heaving and then he threw up. So off the to emergency vet we went. I got the feeling this guy didn't have alot of knowledge about the bulldog breed, or he did and saw a chance to make money. Either way, I didn't agree with much of what the guy said and since Jack was stable at this point, I just let them give him sub-q fluids and anti-nausea meds. Jack slept most of the night with no problems but this morning he was straining to poop. I brought Jack to our regular vet this morning and he did a rectal exam and x-ray and a scope. He didn't see anything that worried him thank goodness. So whatever Jack ate, its gone now or just not showing up on anything. He's back to playing but is sleeping alot so hopefully in another day he'll be back to his old self. But his daddy isn't going to be so happy when he sees the vet bill. Oooops.

awww Poor Jack
I hope he is feeling better :)
Bullies with the Rocks and Sticks and stuff.
I think they are worse than kids sometimes :p

Puppie vs Toddlers
I'm thinking that Jack and my 2 yr old are right up there together on who is the most mischieveous. The good thing about the puppy though is that we can put him in the crate when he needs to settle down. :-)

The grandson crawled into the dogs crate once...
and actually pulled the door closed.... a 3 year old 'Human Puppy' looking out at us. We had to laugh (the picture is here at the house somewhere! LOL)

are Jack and Kippah kindred siblings?
Kippah did the same thing Sunday, and she threw up twice! But then I remembered last time she got her shots she didnt want to eat much the next day and the time before that she threw up too....so we kept an eye on her and she is doing fine now. I just wonder if the shots or the worm meds upsets her a little?
Hope Jackster is feeling better and back to normal now...these silly kids keep us on our toes.
OH and we found that Kippah will not settle down in the evening while we are in the living room watching TV unless the fan is blowing. She goes from lap to lap, couch to couch and wont settle down, same thing with the car AC, gotta be blowing......the thing is it was 34 here last night, and wont get over 65 today if we are lucky! Kippah better start seein' things my way! HA yeah right!

Plans for tomorrow?
So I wonder what these two will be doing tomorrow? LOL I'm exhausted so I hope its a quiet day. I thought about the shots possibly making him sick but he had his shots at 9:30 am Saturday and didn't start throwing up until 4:30pm Sunday. Today he was acting fine and this afternoon he went to a pile of dry leaves and munched a few before I could stop him. He immediately started making those heaving sounds again. So I'm thinking he is getting the leaves stuck in his throat.
Thats funny about Kippah! Jack won't settle down either at times and we have to put him in the crate. When he gets wild he wants to bite and its usually the girls since he thinks they are his littermates.

glad everything checked out ok!
Better safe than sorry!! :)
Shannon and Winston :)
My swimming bully buddy!
Thanks!
I agree with better safe than sorry. But if Jack keeps this up, we'll be buying our vet a new car. LOL
Nakina
sounds familiar
We have to watch Buddy like a hawk and he still manages to gobble up foreign objects. Hopefully our babies will outgrow it!
Glad he checked out okay :)
Hope Buddy is better!
The whole time this was going on I kept thinking about Buddy. I was praying that Jack didn't eat anything that required surgery. We have a big backyard and there is too many things out there that its impossible to make it completely safe. Jack is never alone outside but I have to have one eye on the kids on one eye on Jack so sometimes something gets missed.

puppies days
gotta love it. only thing is if they see it they want it. then they think they should eat it.

I remember those days...
puppyhood = put everything and anything in your mouth. I'm glad Jack is OK - these bullies will give us all grey hair very early in life!
