Odd Behavior
Submitted by green128 on August 28, 2012 - 11:07amWell, maybe not odd for a bulldog, but I have a couple of questions for you all to see if you have had the same experience: (1) Angus goes absolutely nuts when my husband pulls out a football -- do you think it's the leather? (2) Recently, when Angus is sitting next to me he incessantly licks my legs and feet -- what's that all about??
Sometimes they just fixate on something...
With Chester it's hoses or rakes or brooms. He barks loud and aggressively and we have to put him somewhere else. The hard licking is a domi encephalitis issue. He wants to be the boss.

Yep - the lawn mower
weed eater, rake. Kohl and Ester have to go into their kennels when I'm doing yard work. They are fine with the vacuum. MacKenzie is not obsessive over anything so he can hang out with me.
Maybe he just likes your soap, lotion, etc. I've never thought the leg licking had anything to do with dominance. Mine like to lick my legs after I get out of the shower and if I put lotion on they try to lick. I don't let them, drives me nuts. Sometimes Ester licks the water that runs down under the shower door.
With Ollie it's a little bit of dominence...
He usually licks as a prelude to humping lol.

My Stella LOVED to lick my legs, especially after a shower and ESPECIALLY if I had just put lotion on. She would literally chase me around the appartment as I was trying to put on pants - now that's an image, isn't it!
Maybe your guy wants to play a little game of tackle?

Tucker likes to lick legs when they've been all lotioned up. His fave is mango body butter by the Body Shop.
He also likes to lick my husbands head but that doesn't need any lotion!
Tucker also goes a little crazy for the lawn mower, weed wacker and yes snow shovel!

Licking
Maybull loves to lick Daddy's feet. Sometimes she will move up the leg until we stop her. Dogs tend to like men's feet more than women's feet but FEET are a big, tasty thing.
