Hi I am wondering if anyone has tried this harness with their bulldog? My 7 month old bulldog is so strong and if he sees another dog or person it's full speed ahead. I don't like te prong or choke collars, and the gentle leader isn't really an option bc he has no nose to put it on! Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

I have one not that kind but it does work. It hooks on the back
I originally bought them for the boxers but it fits him and does work. : ) I was just telling my friend that has a 9 month old HUGE shepard puppy about this training video I saw on youtube - because this guy is older and his dog pulls hard! I told him when she starts pulling you are suppose to turn around and walk her in the other direction. If she pulls again - repeat. Soon she will learn to follow you.
Thanks for the advice! I will
Thanks for the advice! I will try that.
Egad.. .Gizmo follow ME? what a concept :P
She is either 'butt planted' aint moving, or in OVER DRIVE - I like letting her get a head of steam up (Brisk walk) I'm 6'4" and I can keep up...however.. Dottie is only 5'2" and litterally has to run to keep up with us :) after about 50-100 yards its 'normal' but just that 1st get up and go :)
She doesnt like the harness to walk, she rather have the leash on her collar, almost to the point, with the harness she really wont go for a walk. The harness calms her, totally (unbelievable) she could be jumping and going nuts (like when someone comes over to visit) and ya put the harness on her, and its like 'MELLOW' ok, I'll walk here, and I'll walk there, I wont go 'puppy nuts' on people. After about 5 minutes, we take the harness off and she is all chill then *shrug* who knows...its a trick..and it works :)

sounds like the harness is
sounds like the harness is acting like those anxiety wraps
yea, we agree... we guess
Not sure why...but man does it chill her out. When we put on her Football Jersey, it does the same... 'instant chill pup' :)

No pull harness
The no Pull Harness will not work on a Bully because of theishoulders and legs and how the harness works by bring the upper legs and shoulders together when a dog pulls. To work on pulling issues witha Bully about the only thing that works on a consistant basis is a Martingale collar.
forgot to add , what type of No pull harness ?
If you are referring to the type of no pull harness that just fits around the front shoulders and has a belly strap and clips from underneath the chest then that is what I meant when I said they will not work. Now the harness types that fit around the dog and in which you have loops for each front leg are for the most part worthless for training a bully not to pull. They simply have too much front body strength in those front legs. You can train them not to pull with one but you will get better and much quicker results with a simple Martingale collar. The concept behind them is very simple and they cost much less. Google it and see what I mean. I tried a harness with my bully when it came to her pulling and rushing other dogs and realized it was pretty much next to impractical but with 2 days using a martingale collar and the results were amazing. I broke the behavior in less than a week
Like I said - the harness that hooks on the back worked for me.
It pulled the shoulders back when they were pulling. I'm by any means a dog trainer but - it did work - he couldn't pull so hard
I bought this for My Sergeant Major

We use the easy walk harness, it worked for us
It attatches to the leash at the front of the chest, when they pull it acts like a martingale collar sort of, but on the chest, it's hard to explain..lol. We got it at petsmart.
