Submitted by Vern-Rory-Teresa on October 20, 2011 - 9:44amSo, last night was time for Vern to have his ears cleaned - they're never bad....just need a little cleaning every week or two. As soon as he saw the cleaning stuff and cotton squares in my hand he ran and hid.
Not the best location - buddy - he trapped himself next to the toilet and it made cleaning his ears easier than ever!!! Bulldogs are the silliest creatures!

Winston does the same thing when it comes time to clean his ears. He almost develops unreal hearing abilities b/c no matter how low key and quiet I try to be about getting out the ear cleaner he KNOWS when I've gotten it out of the cabinet and thus begins the pathetic attempt to run away. :)

I had tried to "set up" the cleaning area on my bedroom floor rug & he bolted. I left the treats on the rug & as soon as his ears were clean he ran over and ate the treats. I had forgotten they were there but obviously he didn't.
It is weird how they know stuff....he just didn't properly strategize this time....plus, he had to back in to be positioned next to the toilet like that. Too funny! Winston's face reminds me a lot of Vern - I think they have the same silly eyes.

if he sees the cotton balls and when he hears the dremel...he usually hides on the couch which makes it easy to get to him...lol

how could you!. cleaning ears are something for me too. why do they hate so much?. I hope vern not like Loulou she won't even look at me. she becomes a daddy girl!. he never does any of her cleaning.

LOL! Sophie won't come near me if I have any kind of cotton in my hand. Not a Q-Tip, cotton ball, cotton pad...nothing:-) They sure learn fast!

Tuffy does the exact same thing. Whenver we take out the green bottle of ear solution, he runs right into his crate. HATES having his ears cleaned and we basically have to tackle him to get him to cooperate.
