New puppy coming soon
Submitted by brymarsh on March 15, 2013 - 2:38pmHi all. I'm brand new to this site. I'm getting a bulldog puppy at the beginning of April. I'm very excited. But I have never owned one before. Was hoping for some tips. If anyone would like to share, I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

My best advice is have an experienced bulldog vet on hand and feed your bulldog grain free food! And please share lots of pictures.
I'm sure you'll have questions as you settle in with your new pup...we'll answer them as you have them. :)

I had heard something about the grain free dog food. Wondering if there is a particular brand that is better than the others. Yes, I will be putting lots of pictures on here. He is a cutie for sure and can't wait to show him off. Thank you for your reply!

Giving a bath until they are comfortable with their new living situation. I feel very strongly that if we would have held off on giving our Fatboy a bath on his first day, he would have loved bath time. Welcome! Make sure to post lots of pictures :)

One tip......
Our boy was a crazy mad biter/nipper and as you will find out those tiny little teetth are like needles(NO exaggeration). So, we kept Tucker on a kitty cat leash in the house while we were home in defense of the little biter. If he'd come for our ankles(or our guests ankle's, toes, hands etc) we'd grab the leash. This worked well when we were doing something and unable to get a toy in to replace our appendages.

Your breeder
should be answering all questions you have and we are always here to answer more. Hopefully you have done your homework, are buying this puppy from a reputable breeder who will be available to you 24/7 to ask questions, mentor and advise you on the new puppy.
