Neutering Scheduled - what to expect???

Made the appointment today to have the little guy neutered.  Kinda nervous and wondering what we can expect.  Vets office told us no food after 8 pm the night before and try to keep him calm for about a week.  They will also be looking at his soft palate since he will be under for the surgery already.  Anyone have that done?  What are we looking at for that as far as recovery?  We are going to a highly recommended bulldog vet since everyone told us that is the way to go especially since they are putting the little guy under so I am more comfortable in that regard.

Brewer got fixed and we were

Brewer got fixed and we were told the same thing to keep him calm for a week. Well that lasted for about 5 hours while he was still drugged up. The next day he was so extremely hyper (I think to make up for the day before) that it was hard to keep him calm. The best thing we could do was to make sure that he did not jumping and we refused to play tug of war. We also did not take him for a walk for the whole week. He healed perfectly fine and is his total normal self.

Sorry have nothing on the palat thing.

Neutering time

We had both the neuter, nares and soft palate done at the sametime.  Just makes sense to fix what needs it while they are under.  It will be tough to keep him calm, because the next day he will be ready to go.  I found that I am a little more calm than my husband.  If he was home with the boys they would be hyper and with me they would be calm and sleep.  So it might help if you can also relax during that time. :)  The soft palate you just can't give them any soft foods for awhile.  Good luck!
