Hopefully I can get this attached. This is Talley, my newest girl. She was hit by a truck and left on the road with a badly crushed right hip/pelvis, and a broken left pelvis/hip. She had two major reconstructive surgeries and was hospitalized for 12 days, then fianlly got to come home yesterday! My hubby was behind the guy who hit her, so he was able to get her pretty quickly up and to me, then I got her to my emergency vet. She was then transported to an Orthopedic surgeons for 10 days. She is recouperating well. After 8 weeks in the crate she should be ready to start living again!

Remarkable story too :)
what a trooper !
dave
Dave, I just don't understand how someone could hit a dog and...
Not even tap their brakes but just keep on going. She is big enough that they would HAVE to have known they hit her! And...the lady who lived in the house right on the side of the road where she was hit came out with her gun to "put the dog down"! Huh?? She said she had Catahoulas, but that wasn't hers, but she was going to shoot it dead without knowing the owners, if the dog was seriously injured or could even be fixed, etc. We have deducted that this was indeed her little dog and she just wasn't interested in a vet bill.
Anyway, we have a delightful little girl now who will be a lifelong resident here. She talks and talks...to be let out of her crate! She will be fine eventually.
Thanks for the post. Good to see you:-) How is Zap?

What a lovely story :)
Nice to read things like this
I saw the total!
A lot of money raised for this baby's med bills. Does the total include checks sent to the vet's office?
No, I don't think so.
I haven't even checked yet this morning!
Amy and Sophia
I looked!
That total is awesome. On Paypal the total shows a little different, a couple of transactions failed to clear. I will put in the balance from the vets.

Sweet.
What breeds do you think she is?

We think Catahoula, but not sure what else!
She has a very long neck, much like a Greyhound. She is shaped like that as well, but we just don't know!!!

Awe it worked!

care of the poor thing!
Oh Amy, she is such a lucky gal.
Hopefully, the next several weeks will go by quickly and smoothly. Poor girl, she must be so uncomfortable.
How are the other dogs reacting to her presence?
Hugs to all

Hi Lynn...
Talley is really doing well so far. She loves Kora and Will, she is respectful of Millie, and she torments Sophia as much as Sophia torments her! Not bad, but something I am watching closely. Lets just say this....Talley has NO problem letting Sophia know that the nylabone is HERS, not Sophie's, and that she WILL guard it. Sophie always goes right up to whoever is chewing on whatever bone there is and takes it. Always. Even if she had not even THOUGHT about chewing on one, she will go take it. But Talley seems to have other thoughts on that whole process. We will see!

You are truly amazing for helping this girl...thank you
