We got him in 2007 when I was still involved with rescue. His owners didn't want him anymore, they were moving, BamBam was kept outdoors because they didn't want him to dirty the house they were trying to sell. Jerks actually told me that he loved living outdoors. He needed eye surgery in both eyes, he was filthy and obviously neglected. Well, he turned out to be another failed rescue/rehome, he stayed with us.
BamBam became my husbands best buddy. He was the contractor for 3 summers on our home renovation/rebuild. Nothing fazed him, he mucked around in muddy foundation holes, air compressors, nail guns, piles of wood, trucks coming and going, big equipment, he directed/supervised/inspected everything. He just wanted to be with my husband.
He was my sweet boy. The best kisser, he would kiss with his lips like a fish. Always in need of a belly rub. He was patient, kind and fair to the other dogs even my very pushy Boston Terrier.
My heart is just broken.
I love you sweet boy and I will miss you forever

I am so sorry to hear that
They really do worm their ways into our hearts. Every pet owner knows that day will come, but knowing that doesn't make it any easier. When my childhood dog died--I didn't think I would ever get over it. Sending you lots of hugs

RIP BamBam
You had a rough start but got to be a good bully with Lynn, and I'm sure she knows how happy you were because of her and her family.
Lynn, wanted to reach out to you....................
and express our profound sadness at your loss. Having recently lost our beloved Chunk just before Christmas, The Warden and I understand how numbing and incapacitating losing a beloved bullie can be. We send our prayers for God's comfort and strength for when you feel you have none. For all you do and all you've done, in happiness and in anguish, no other event compares with this. Words are few and difficult to come by. Everything and every place reminds you of something close to BamBam. You cry, stay up all night, not sleeping, and cry some more. Appetite? Not hungry just now. The eerie empty loneliness pervades everything. You've run the gamut of all the emotions, disbelief, denial, sadness, misery, anger and calling the names of dieties. You've read my words before in expressions of sympathy; God only lets us have them for a little while and then The Master calls them home. You can imagine I've had trouble reading my own words here. Of course, it's not fair. It's not fair for a bullie to entrap your heart and mind as deeply and completely as they do. And we know at the beginning of any relationship with one, what could ultimately happen. The only element we can offer you, and you will scoff at the suggestion, is.........time. Take as much as you feel you need. And then, take some more. We are still taking ours. And we're really not sure, even now, how much more we will need. We've done a "turtle" and pulled our heads in and are laying low on the bottom of the pond, down here where it's quiet and dark. We'll eventually have to come up for air..........but not now............not yet. I'm hoping Chunk will let us know when. God's peace and our love.
BamBam
So sorry to hear of your loss. He had a good life with you and your husband and that is what counts.
Lots and lots of strength!
