My dog vomit was unusually dark?..

Last night I awoke to Gunther licking his vomit (gross I know). Anyway when I turned on the lights it was so dark brown. It even had a piece of corn in it (sorry) and he hasn't eaten corn. I was worried it look like poop. It didn't smell like it though. He is eating/peeing/pooping fine.
Should I be alarmed it was so dark? He's not a poop eater, so I don't think he ate any...
he threw up a second time, a small amount then he seemed to settle.
Thoughts?

Is he feeling okay by now?
You could give him a bland diet (cooked hamburger and rice) for a few days until he settles down. No chance he got hold of a corn cob? Strange how the corn got in there.
He seems ok..
He seems ok. Eating, drinking, pooping, playing. I guess we'll just keep on eye on him.
