Moving

Moving is stressful.  Searching for a new place to find the ideal conditions is hard enough (or as I call it, MY standards...I'm kind of high maintenance).  Then there is the transferring of utilities, cable, coordinating the movers and moving costs involved etc.  And then the dreaded packing! What a great time to donate all the stuff you don't see, use, or even knew you had.

What must our fur babies think when all of this is going on? When we first brought Fatboy home at 9 weeks old, all he knew was the brothers and sisters he was surrounded by all day.  Then one day, about half way through the ride on the freeway with this strange lady, he knew something was wrong and whined in protest.

Then when Fatboy was about a year and a half, he moved again.  This time was especially hard for him (for us too) as he had to leave his house, his yard, his familiar dog walking path, his everything.  And this new house he was in? Forget it. Even though all his toys, his bed, and the other stuff was there, he tried to make me follow him out the door to "go home".

Well we are moving once again. And of course I was worried about how he will react to the big change.  Friday my husband and I were given the keys to the new house.  I did the same as I did the last time and brought the Fats over immediately so he can get used to the new place.  I thought he was going to freak out and try to make me follow him out the door.  But to my surprise he was actually happy to be there!

This new place has a yard for him (hooray!)  It's also bigger and Fatboy immediately claimed the walk-in closet as his own.  As I was checking out the kitchen, I found Fatboy in the walk-in closet just relaxing lol  He also explored the entire house WITHOUT me.  I'm so glad he felt comfortable enough to do this on his own.

Here are a couple of pics of him enjoying the new place :D

He approves the dining room.

Trying to decide which bedroom will be his  =P

Such a great story!

Congrats on the new house.....perhaps Fatboy realized early on that his family was going wherever he was going...and that made it home!
