Kippah's first heat

Well here we are, I hoped we would wait awhile, but nope!  I was packing up yesterday morning to head out of town for the weekend, of course Kippah was going with us, and I noticed her with a little more Junk in her trunk than usual.  And by the time we were getting into the truck she was spoting.  So off to get panties for times in the car, and in the hotel.

But the reason for my post.....should I expect behavior changes?  Twice now she has peed on her blankey, right before settling down to go to sleep.  And she is a little barky, and has targeted a few people (men) that she really does not like this weekend.

I am looking forward to this being a LIGHT heat...I really hope this is the case

I've only READ about it, but many doggie owners say

they can be extreeemely moody and just out of sorts in general!

Also, that males will travel MILES to seek her out....they want that junk in that trunk, babyyyy!!!

poor Kippah!!!  I hope she does okay.....too bad they don't make doggie Midol......

Maybull was miserable.

She took after her mommy and was misrable through her heat. We got her spayed soon after. We decided we weren't going to breed or show her. She was moody and I don't blame her.

Moody, Cranky, Grumpy

you know it's girl stuff.   Ester does tend to pee in her crate more when she is in season or just before she goes into season, although she is just going out of season now and I didn't have one crate peepee this time.   But she's 5 now and this heat cyle was very light.

Kippah's junk in the trunk will get bigger most likely over the next couple of weeks, but typically the first heat is light.  And sometimes the junk doesn't totally go back to normal.  So she may be a little pouchy back there.

My husband (now ex) saw Ester's junk and said "Oh my god, it's huge"   LOL!   :)  And I've seen bigger.

Just make sure she's never outside without supervision, those boys can be very opportunistic.

never unattendend

Kippah is never unattended, even when his is not in heat.  For potties she is most often on a leash, and once a day she goes to the back yard to run with the other dogs, but we stay with her.

She is SO crabby.  we went to the park and she was a total grouch!  barking and acting like a real Jerk.

She did not sleep well at the hotel, and would not stop to take a nap.  Now that we are home she is crashed.  My male Boston, intact, is scared to death of her since she got home, I dont think he would be brave enough to try, but they wont have a chance ever, anyway.
