Submitted by kaydee007 on May 31, 2012 - 3:58pmHi im a first time bulldog owner...My bruce is a male and will be 4 months in 2 days ;)...He really has made a postive impact on my family from his cute noises too his gas!!!! He is just as sweet as can be and i just want to make sure i can get as much info on the breed so I can be a good mommy to him..We were having a poop problem..it smelled so bad and he had the runs...ewwwwww...so i switch him from Natural Balance "ultra" to Taste of The Wild with bison and venison..puppy one of course..I really hope this helps the poop problem!!!! here is a pic of bruce when we first brought him home!!

Bruce is a cutie. We had a similar issue with our puppy food. We tried to give them what the breeder was feeding, but Rocco has a sensitive tummy. We switch their food and he was fine. We switched them a little after 6 months to the Natural Alpha Fish Formula and they are fine with that food. Enjoy your new baby.

Stick around, you can learn LOTS on here! As soon as we switched Kippah off of Puppy food we had NO poo problems. We took her off at 4 months. Common thought on Puppy food around here is that they dont need it past 4-6 months, and you want to go to a lower protien food, like around 22-24% protien. I learned that right off, and we put her on a grain free of course....she has been doing great. Read some of the posts from about 2 weeks ago and you will see information about dog food recalls, depends on where you live if it effects you, but a huge hit to any Blue Diamond manufactured food.

thanks for the info on the dog food..i live in Cali so our food came from a washington plant..but that is scary ;(..ur dog is beautiful...i like how u took a pic in the same spot so u could see the growth!!! For some reason i was under the impression that the higher the protien the better the food..I did make sure to put him on a grain free formula..i was going to feed him raw but i dont feel quite comfortable with it..im glad i found a community of bulldog lovers that dont mind sharing tricks!!

Yes, Im in Washington state, so my food supply was not effected either, but the food I use is not Diamond anywat. We really like AvoDerm. It ranges from 20-23% protien, and has a great balance of Omega 3s and 6s. Most Petsmarts have it.

ur bulldog is is amazing looking!!!!! he is a little more white than bruce on the top of his head but to me ur baby looks like a blown up big brucey!!!! so when i saw ur baby i just fell in love!!!! i do FB but it seems like i never get replies there...but then again its not like u can friend a page and get there easily so maybe im doing it wrong...lol im usually only on fb on my i phone...so maybe its different because i use my phone..too bad BW dosnt have an app for android or i phone..This is my first time being part of a forum so im still learning..but its pretty easy...

When I pictured my bullie I was thinking white, but my husband was set on one with color...I also wanted a female lol..i have 4 boys 1 man, and a male cat. So i was planning on a female to be on me and my dauhters side!!!..But when I met the pups bruce would not leave me alone, so he chose me, or i would like to think that!!! My husband was very excited that I agreed on Bruce and my 4 yearold son named him..I was going to name him Dwane, but the kids took over and chose Bruce!! lol..now im very happy with the color:)
