on a bulldog. When I started looking for a dog I looked for one that was not going to need a huge yard and tons and tons of exercise. I researched for two years before I bought a bulldog. When I researched it, it said that they were more on the lazy side and would require minimum amount of exercise. Now I know I was still going to have to exercise my bulldog, but never did I think 24/7. My Brewer is 10 months and has sooooo much energy. I am home all day with him and the boyfriend all night with him and all he wants to do is play. No rest for us. I walk him about 1 1/2 a day and when we are done he wants to keep going. The last time I took Brewer to the vet he goes "so Brewer must be calming down now and sleeping alot huh?" Errr wrong! I have the defective bulldog. The other thing that I read when I researched was that bulldogs tend to not bark that much. OMG I think Brewer likes to here his own bark cuz it's all the time. Up the chiminey and down the basement stairs the most. But through it all I love my puppy butt and would not trade him for anything. I do not regret picking him out because he is my best friend. Everyday I look forward to waking up and being with him, and when I am gone I cant wait to get back home to him.
On another note, I do not post often on here (mainly because I am not good with words) but I do look on here a few times a day. My prayers go out to all of you that have lost their babies, as I don't ever want that day to happen to me. So even if I don't post when something happens on here, I am constantly thinking about everyone on here. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
You've got a baby....
Bulldogs have hung amounts of energy as puppies. This will fade, but not for a while. At about two or three years of age, you'll have that lazy bulldog you've heard about. Until then, enjoy. They grow up so fast.
Gizmo turned 2 and she's a lazy couch, bed potato - -
Oh and she does bark -
1) when she *DEMANDS* her daily 'Puppy Crack' (Yogurt) she will bark at the refrigerator non stop.
2) a bark or 2 to go outside (more if we arent paying attention)
3) and she'll bark alot, when she is saying 'Get off the couch, turn off the TV, and come to bed *NOW*'
:)

lol...the girl knows what she wants tha's all!
Maybull, too.
She used to not bark much but now, in her old age, she's very demanding. She'll bark if both of us are not in the TV room and it's TIME TO SIT AND WATCH TV!< which is usually about 9:00 pm. If one of us is there, that's not good enough. We both must be there.
Ha!
That sounds like my princess. Sometimes if she's on the couch chewing on something like a bone, and it drops to the ground, her lazy butt will bark until my husband or I pick it up for her. I know, I know, you say just don't pick it up for her then, she'll learn. I have tried that a couple of times and she'll do her pathetic little whimpering that melts my heart and I give in. Always.

when i got my archie i had
when i got my archie i had been convived that all he would be was lazy...
b/c true to their trait they are the most sedentary of breeds..umm...i thought i got jipped
also b/c my bugaboo jumped, sprang and ran and barked like unlike anything i ever seen!!!
i would give anything to have him back if only just to huggles and smoochies him one
last time and tell him how much i love him!!!
He's a bulldog...but still a puppy
And they have energy! When I first got Molly, she would play hard and then crash for very long naps. She slept on and off most of the day. Now at 9 months, I find she sleeps less during the day. Oh and she definitely barks, usually at silly things though like a plastic bag blowing by outside and sometimes her new toys!
LOL
I was convinced that we accidently bought a Jack Russell Terrier. Jack has TONS of energy while his brother, is very mellow. But we are a high energy household and I think Jack feeds off that energy too. But it does work for all of us. Jack seems happy, we're happy. If we need a break, we put him in the crate and he'll take a nap. But feel free to post more. I'm not the best with words either but everyone here seems to just get it. :-)

Also, about your writing....
I don't know why you say you're not a good writer. Your grammar, punctuation, word use – they are are all good. I think your writing is better than most people I know. Your post was easy to understand, engaging and interesting. Plus, you're writing about your bulldog and around here, that's what counts.
So we just got back from our
So we just got back from our walk and we walked 2.32 miles in 38 mins. Oh my joyous puppy. And thank you to those that said I am good at writing.
Mine are the same way!
My girl is 9 months, my boy is 3 months. They both will wake up and play all day. She is a bigger fan of sleeping than he is. Sometimes he sleeps just 8 hours during the night, 12-8am, then he is up and ready to go and I swear I won't see that boy sleep till bedtime that night. No naps or anything! I thought bulldogs were supposed to sleep 23 hours a day, but nope not here. Maybe it's a puppy thing???

I had 2 bullies
I had 2 bullies.. and they are completely opposite!..Dozer in and english bully,he is your dictionary E-B.. hes lazy, and chubby.. and he can be in his crate ALL day.. come out eat, play for 5 mins and then ill take him to bed with us and he can sleep the 7-8 hours as if he had such a longggggggggg strenuous( SP?) day!...
Now harley on the other hand is Olde English. and she is exactly how your little bully acts.. she just wants to run and play and run and play and eat and play and run and go for walks and bark and jump on everything!!!!!>.. she was a handful!. My parents were watching her while we were away in Nov, and we never got her back haha. my parenst loved her soooo much that they asked if we could keep her.. (my youngest brother had just moved out, so all of her 3 children are out of her house, it was a very empty nest!). shes there and shes happy and loved on both ends.. but yes shes a on the wilder side. but she had deff relaxed shes 11 months old and she has started to calm down.. give him some time and im sure hell be a little more mangeable for you :)

Rocco gets a CRAZY surge if I dont walk him and wigs out
for about an hour or hour and a half! Biting, running, spinning bouncing off the bed~ he's totally nuts then! ha ha ha
Zoomies!
Or the crazies as I like to refer to them! Molly does it too at least once a day. I think it is pretty funny!
Yes, we call that THE ZOOMIES
Maybull doesn't have the zoomies anymore – she's 12. But she did for years. Funny story –
We were on vacation in Israel. We got an international phone to call home to our pet sitter. I didn't call for several days because the calls weren't cheap, but I wanted to check in. She answered and sounded a little strange, a little hesitant. She then said that Maybull had been acting weird. In the evening when the both of them were watching TV, she'd get this crazy look in her eyes, then she'd spend the next five minutes barking, jumping and snapping at invisible flies. Then she'd crash.
"Yeah," we said. "She's got the zoomies. It's a bulldog thing."
I had told her if there was any problem to come on this forum to ask questions. These guys would have told her. But at least she was relieved to know that Maybull was OK. We thought it was pretty funny.
