All of my dogs are on the same food..just different amounts.. it is not on the recall list. This is the first time I have had a problem with one of my dogs being constipated. My German Shepherd strained last night like he was trying to poop and I actually thought he did. It was dark and I didn't have my flashlight. I marked the area and went to pick it up this morning, nothing there. I walked him this morning and almost the same thing. He was in position to poop and kept walking around like that for about 5 minutes.. The only thing he did was a 2" poop. He wasn't hard, it was kind of soft but held shape.. I know this is gross but I am worried about him. He hasn't gone yet. Now I think he has a temp. I just gave him a Keflex 500mg. I will get him to the vet in the morning. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Then in addition to that my Great Pyrenees, Harley, has really bad orangy diarrhea which I can take care of. Thank God my Bullie baby, Slugger has a cast iron stomach and is doing fine and dandy. I'm just worried about my German Shepherd, Bentley.
Not to frighten you, but I would already be at the vet.
That could be a blockage or even bloat. Do not let it go overnight if at all possible Kathie, get him to a vet as soon as you can.
