Hurley and Daphne to be on calendar

Hurley and Daphne were chosen to be on our county Humane Society's annual calendar. They will be the furkids for the month of December. They are having their professional photo shots this Saturday.

Hurley came to us from a college student as a 6 month old puppy. She had purchase him for her grandfather that passed away and she didn't want him. Daphne came to us as a 2 1/2 years old from a lady that also had 3 chihuahua's and when Daphne was observed carrying one of them around in her mouth the lady thought it would be easier to find a home for her instead of 3 chihuahua's. Obviously, she was just wanting to play with a new toy *S*!

I can totally picture that - hilarious. Poor chi must have seen his life flash before his eyes. Ha, ha!!

I suppose that does count as "rescue" since they were rehomed with you. They're lovely!

They were chosen from a contest...

Owners submitted photographs of their pets that were then placed on jars in our two local veterinary clinics for people to drop money into to vote for their favorite. The jars were then moved to the Humane Society's booth at the town's annual homecoming. The 12 pets that collected the most money were then selected to be placed on next year's calendar. The event raised a little over $1000.00 for the Humane Society.
